I bought this beanie to use as a nightcap. Our bedroom is very cold and has a peculiar draft. The cap is lightweight, stretchy nylon, and fits me well. But the dark blue dye ran, and discolored a pillowcase. Oddly, the color won't wash out of the pillowcase. My wife soaked the beanie in water with a little detergent for a day, and then let it air dry. Good. No more dye on pillows. As for its effectiveness at a nightcap: it's been okay for the cool nights we've had until now, but temps are going down to the teens tonight, and I may have of layer it with a lightweight fleece cap. Advice: If you get this beanie, before you wear it, wash it in warm, soapy water with a long soak to get the excess dye out of it, and then let it air dry. ... show more
