  • This Newbie is Stunned
Size: 3 Inch (Set of 2) Color: Brown
After a seasoned equestrian wrote a post to "turned those stirrups already," I heeded her advice for safety reasons. What I was not expecting was the difference it would make when the horse went into a trot. For years I've been trying to figure out how to get balanced to handle the trot. Video after video has been watched and every time the horses went into a trot, it felt like I was a bobblehead doll about to be launched head over heels off my horse. It did happen to my husband and it was terrifying and traumatizing. After installing these stirrup turners, I was amazed at how comfortable I was for a change. It was like my body slid into proper position without effort and my legs were comfortable instead of feeling like I was stiff-legged and bracing for impact. Because I was comfortable and my feet and knees felt comfy, I decided to try asking my horse to go into a trot. It was amazing! It was exactly what I thought it should have felt like and never did. I was getting discouraged about my riding skills. I'm still going to take riding lessons to continue growing and in the meantime, I feel more safe and confident in the saddle than I ever have. Bonus, these are not metal so it does not add more weight to the saddle making it awkward, difficult, or heavier. It's rare for me to get this excited about a product and, as a result, product reviews are not something I spend a lot of time doing. I highly recommend these. As a beginner, I finally feel confident riding the trot because I'm not fighting the stirrups and fenders while trying to focus on everything else that is a part of learning how to ride. These also helped add a little more length to the stirrups for my 6'4" husband so his legs are in a better position in his saddle too instead of sitting in the saddle like a race jockey. This made a world of difference for these newbies. Thank you. ... show more

  • Helps with knee pain
Size: 3 Inch (Set of 2) Color: Brown
The stirrup turners really help with knee pain I tend to experience after long rides. I no longer experience knee pain and I love that I no longer have to search and hassle with finding my right stirrup. As other reviews state, the stirrup turners will lengthen your stirrups by a couple of inches. I have fairly short legs so I had to punch 2 more holes in my stirrup leathers. I am very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Amazing improvement!
Size: 3 Inch (Set of 2) Color: Brown
Two months ago, I had a custom saddle built on an existing 50 year old mesquite tree. (I found the tree in Mexico in perfect condition) This has been an amazing process and the saddle is 90% perfect. My issue was the new stirrups and leather fenders....so stiff and that equates to knee and ankle pain trying to break everything in over time. These stirrup turners were EXACTLY what I needed. Holy cow! Immediate comfort and correct placement. They do add length so you definitely need to adjust your stirrups. I ended up going up three holes for proper leg placement after adding these. Fortunately, my saddle maker measured my short legs and added extra holes to compensate. The addition of these turners means I can mount safely from anywhere and instantly find my right stirrup without looking. The stirrups stay in the correct angle and are balanced even on rough, steep mountain trails. That's a big deal out in the Big Bend desert mountains of West Texas. Installation was quite simple and took just a few minutes. My only complaint is because these are so thick and stiff (they have to be) my ankles can take a beating after several hours on the trails. Even in tall boots. I've begun wrapping them in vet wrap just to add a bit of cushion and that has helped significantly. I'm coming in from hard, long rides without limping anymore because my stirrup placement is finally set up correctly. ... show more

  • A smidge wider than kids/youth stirrups
Size: 2 1/2-Inch Color: Brown
Had to shove them in the stirrups neck on my daughters saddle. I even bought a separate pair of kids stirrups that were wider. Just about 1/3inch narrower would have been perfect fit. I have used the larger sizes on my saddle and liked them.

  • It is my wish to provide a more detailed review hoping that the next person thinking of making this purchase will have a better
Size: 2 1/2-Inch Color: Brown
This review is in no way attempting to do a disservice to JT International regarding the forthcoming review. There are numerous websites selling this and other brands of stirrup turners and they areal very similar in appearance and basically function in the same manner. JT International sold me the stirrups at a fair price and and shipping was prompt. It is my wish to provide a more detailed review hoping that the next person thinking of making this purchase will have a better understanding of how this stirrup functions It. was purchased for one of my cordura saddles as the fenders cannot be turned and puts less strain on your ankles. If you have short legs you may not be able to adjust the Blevins buckle on your stirrup leathers for the proper length as these turners add approximately 2" to overall fender + stirrup length. Additionally, I ordered the 2" which is the width of my fender where it would normally attache to my stirrup but the width of the stirrup turner (the nylon where your stirrups will now attach is around 1-1/2"). Average stirrups have a neck width of either 2" or 3" so be aware that your newly attached stirrup will have some "play". Therefore, stirrups with a 2" neck will realize less play than the 3". If considering (upgrading" to the smaller 2" necked stirrup they are not to be found in abundance on line or at a tack store. They do exist but research will be required to locate a pair unless you are able to tolerate the plastic variety. Lastly there is a tightening bolt on one side which must be removed in order to re-attach the stirrup. It should be noted that the when re-attaching the stirrup care should be taken the position of the bolt face as nearly "outside" as possible to prevent accidental contact with the horses side. ... show more

  • Now there is no reason to try to endure ankle pain while riding.
Size: 2 1/2-Inch Color: Black
I like just about everything about this stirrup turner. I can't think of anything negative. I was concerned about matching the color of my saddle and a lot of other things that didn't materialize. So, what can I tell you that will answer your questions? First - it is well built and should last for a good long time. Second - I found it easy to assemble just by looking at the pictures, which is necessary because there are no instructions. Third - it looks classy, like it was always part of the saddle. There isn't anything about the color that makes it stand out as an "orphan" part. I think the difference in coloring gives a nice contrast. Fourth - it does what I wanted to do. The stirrup is held at an angle that gives a secure, solid footing witihout twisting your ankle, like it did before. I did have to reset the fender because the stirrup holder is a bit longer than the original stirrup. That construction is great but the way I mounted it the first time caused the only issue I had. I wasn't paying attention when I installed them the first time. The stirrup holder is mounted to the saddle with a very sturdy bolt that has a rounded top. On the other end the nut and bolt protrude just a hair, enough to cause some discomfort to my ankle as the end of the bolt bumped me frequently while riding. It took only a moment to correct that. If you put the rounded part of the bolt closest to your ankle that problem disappears. So, other than that little difficulty I think everything was better than I expected. Fifth - the price is right, a real value for your money. ... show more
Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2019 by Ron - I love this mouse. This is my second purchase..after having dropped my first one seven times...the eight time was fatal. I had no question in my mind about how I was going to replace it. It arrived two days after I ordered it . Very impressive. I recommend this product to anyone.

  • Nope
Size: 2 1/2-Inch Color: Brown
The rigid bar in them bangs into your shin unless you wear tall boots. Also I am short so they added too much length to my stirrups. They do make the stirrups face forward in a very solid way but if ur 5ft or under or like to wear short boots or sneakers to ride they don’t work.

  • Stirrup turners
Size: 2 1/2-Inch Color: Black
They are a bit bulky but work well in keeping the stirrups turned to I can get my foot right in the stirrups easily.
