  • Wider toe area is AMAZING!
Size: 8 Color: Grey/Grey
My favorite walking/running shoe ever. I don’t have a wide foot, but the wider toe bed is the best design! Great comfort that keeps your foot snugly surrounded but toes free. Great foot bed. These are premium shoes!!!!

  • Excellent shoes for walking, hiking, travelling
Size: 10 Color: Grey/Grey
Important to know that I am not a runner, and use these and other similar shoes for walking, hiking and travelling. I have purchased several pairs of Topo Athletic shoes, as well as shoes from Altra and Xero. I am a big fan of Topo shoes because of their build quality, durability, comfort, anatomical fit and simple and elegant designs. I also like the way their shoes match my gait; I prefer them to Altras, for example. What I would like to share in this review is my experience with fit and sizing. Most of the time when I consider sizing and fit, I focus mainly on the length of the shoe and the shape and width of the toebox. However, with Topos, I would advise paying a lot of attention to the midfoot area. Topos fit snugly there. My first pair ran a bit long (US 10M) and therefore I tried my next pairs in US 9.5. Those fit fine, when laced up tightly, but when I want to wear them loose for a casual stroll, they don’t fit as well. The last of Topos is quite exacting. I find that when I wear size 10, I can both lace them up tightly and also wear them more loosely; they seem just a little long, though I’ve not found that to be a problem for walking. Note, the Ultraventures 3 & 4 are roomier than the Phantom 3s, so not all their shoes are exactly the same, which of course is true of many brands. Also, the UV4 midsole is noticeably more plush than the UV3’s, thus the UV4s are not as stable; for me, that’s not been an issue. I would also highly recommend buying Topo’s FKT insoles to replace the Ortholite insoles in your UVs. All in all, very happy with my Topo purchases. ... show more

  • Fantastic 5mm drop trail shoe!
Size: 9 Wide Color: Grey/Grey
As a long time Hoka fan - I thought I’d never give up my Stinson ATRs or Speedgoats and have no interest in a zero drop shoe but started noticing that running shoes were getting narrower in the toe box and discovered the 5mm drop Topos and am sold. The combination of the familiar drop with decent cushion, secure heel and roomy toe box have been game changers and I’ve never looked back. These are not as cushioned as the Stinson, but more so than the Speedgoats and the fit is refreshing. True to size. ... show more

  • Love the large toe box
Size: 11 Color: Grey/Grey
First of all, I’m reviewing this show as a walker since I can no longer run. I have osteoarthritis in my big toe so I’m searching for shoes with a large toe box. This show has the largest toe box of all the shoes I’ve tried. The shoe is comfortable, snug, fits well, good tread. That being said it is a stable shoe so it’s not as plush as many competitors. For me it’s good for a 3 mile walk every morning. The only reason I gave this shoe 4 stars was it would not be my first choice If I was to spend all day walking around a city on vacation. ... show more

  • Good, but there are some design concerns. Not water resistantant all.
Size: 12.5 Color: Grey/Grey
They fit like Altras. Wide toe box, great fit, comfortable, etc. What I didn't realize is that the sides are mesh, so the slightest amount of moisture will seep through. You can actually see light coming through on the sides. This will not only be a problem in wet conditions, it also makes them a lot less durable, and will let dust in. I was going to spray them with water repellent, but after seeing the mesh, what is the point? the material on the sides are porous. I'm also not a fan of the color. I don't like the big white soles. I decided to try them since Altra seems to be going downhill, but I doubt if I will buy them again, because of the mesh sides. They might be ideal for Summer, but for Fall and Winter I would look for something else. Year round, they seem more appropriate for the gym, not the trail. I'm debating rather to send them back or not. ... show more

  • Very nice, excellent traction in dirt
Size: 12 Wide Color: Black/Red
I got these to test compared to my typical Hoka’s. I love my Hoka but I have very wide feet and I’ve never found Hoka’s wide enough in the toe. These are not “Hoka soft” but they are very nice, and they’re much lighter than the Hoka (Bondi 8s) I always use Superfeet insoles, so can’t speak to the originals in these. I like the traction on dirt and they are plenty functional on pavement. My running paths are usually 75% paved, 25% dirt so I need shoes that work on both. Overall, these are very nice shoes. I’ve put about 100 miles on them so far and they still look new. ... show more

  • Innovation shall not diminish overall performance
Size: 10.5 Color: Grey/Grey
I choose Ultraventure 4 model as substitute of my optimally used and washed out Ultraventure Pro. I have used the new pair of shoes this morning for approx. 12K through 80% asphalt and 20% grass-bushes. As I expected, feel comfortable, enough room on toe, soft cushion, elegant look, top front side material a bit transparent (note, to improve breathability? however at the same time felt bit soaking when passing through wet grasses-bushes). New model Ultraventure 4’ sole has two types of material vibram as the Ultraventure Pro (black) and softer-more flaxible (white), to make sole more flexible? however it would be potential downside i.e. “glue” robustness between the two material. The old model’s has dominant vibram and more rugged profile relative to the new model “thinner”, which potentially wash out sooner. Overall I like it and will use it till it last 😃👍🏼 ... show more
