This will be the third helmet I bought, the first two will need to be returned. The Retrospec Dakota was sized way too small, I could not get past the top of my head. The outdoor master was ridiculously large, and quality wise, It was very thin flexible, and would not trust my head in it if I ever to hit a hard object. I am very happy with the quality of this helmet, and the fit, which is very accurate. As previously stated this helmet is not the most comfortable, but I have ordered helmet padding to add to it, and should be just fine.

Ordered a Large Tontron, matte warm red helmet I am so very pleased. 1). I needed large helmet and this fit perfectly with the adjustable knob to tighten or loosen. I sometimes wear my hair down and other times, with a high ponytail. This helmet fit both ways, very comfortably. 2). The side straps are very adjustable. I adjusted the chin strap FORWARD, so it was AWAY from my neck and securely under my chin. Then I adjusted the length of the strap and neatly tucked away the excess in the chin strap pad. So neat and clean looking. I also adjusted side strap so that everything was symmetrical and neat. Once all that was adjusted to my face shape, I then turned the knob in the back of the helmet and I had the BEST, most perfect custom fit helmet. So I am very pleased and happy I made this purchase. Also, I like that you can remove the ear covers. My ears must be a bit large because the pressure from the helmet on my ears, was very uncomfortable. So I removed the covers altogether and then it was the most perfect, comfortable helmet. The appearance is perfect. I am pleased with the color. Matte warm red which looks more orange-red or Coral and it’s pleasing to the eye. I wanted to be easily spotted and this color is perfect for me. I think with the hard shell, I am well protected. And love the soft cushion padding on the inside. Excellent air/water vents. Took the time to write this because for me this was a great find!!!

It’s a great helmet for the price and definitely gets the job done! Very lightweight and adjustable for comfort. The only drawback is that the plastic for the adjustment kinda bothers my ears a bit. But for starting out this is great!

I often have a hard time finding helmets that will fit my big XL head, but this one is great. It's very comfortable and I'm looking forward to adding the Salamander visor to it, that I ordered at the same time. The only thing I did to the helmet was to remove the ear covers. I like to be able to clearly hear my VHF radio and sailing buddies when on the water, and I'm concerned the covers might hinder that a little. Fortunately they pop right out. Now I don't have to worry about the boom splitting my head open during an accidental jibe. I also like that it covers so much of my skull and should be good for shading my head from the sun, while the vents keep things cool. I'll edit this review after I've had a chance to use it on the water.

Perfect helmet for me. Great fit and feels robust. I feel safer and more relaxed while wearing it on the water.Wish I had made this purchase earlier. Saved me from a few bumps on the head already. As for the phone pouch that comes with it.....let's just say that the helmet is of much better quality than the pouch....! Don't base your purchasing decision on the pouch. All in all, for me it was a very good deal for the money. Also looks more universal than the dedicated ski or bicycling or skateboard helmets and would be a good one to consider if looking at saving from having so many helmets.

I don’t love the ear coverings and my next one will have a slightly different shape, but this helmet has served me well on a lot of trips down whitewater.

I ordered the xl helmet and its too small for my head. The sizing chart provided on the product page does not give details on the size of the xl helmet so I was not able to see if it would fit before ordering. Helmet itself seems good for the price but if you have to go bigger than a large beware.
