The shoes were a good price, and I'm a fan of Tom's charity match, so I got a pair. I ordered my actual size because it said they ran true to size, and if you're barefoot, yes, they do. I, however, can't stand to wear shoes without socks on, but even my thinnest pair (before going to just those ped stockings they give you to try on shoes, or similar) makes the shoes uncomfortable after maybe an hour or two. I may just need to let the canvas stretch by walking around the house in them, but as far as the fit goes, if you want to wear actual socks, you might want to go up a half size.

These shoes are pretty stiff, I washed them in the washer and air dried them upon arrival. They still had sharp uncomfortable edges so I used sand paper to soften them. A bit labor intensive just to make the shoe comfort to wear. Absolutely no arch support and no extra room in the shoe for an insert. I will mostly wear them for short periods on vacations.

Regularly order Tom's and have had no difficulty with fit in the past. This particular pair is quite short and unfortunately because I am a frequent buyer, I tossed the box before trying on the shoes. Have ad shoe stretcher in them since I purchased but still short. Love the shoes, but would recommend not assuming that all Tom's shoes are created equal and be sure to try them on before you decide to dump the box!
