I did a ton - and I mean TON - of research before buying my 10-year-old daughter a hoverboard for Christmas. Considering the cost, I wanted to ensure I got a safe and durable product. I read many, many reviews and the Tomoloo (one Tomoloo or another) made most every list whereas other brands were often high on one list and low on another. The Tomoloo Fire Kylin Q2-C seemed to have the best combination of (relatively) low weight, good battery life, speed limit, and positive reviews. Okay, so now we've had it for a few days... Pros: it took less than 5 minutes for my daughter to comfortably maneuver around the house. This is a girl who didn't master a bicycle until she was 8 and still struggles with roller skates - it is very intuitive. It's silent (our dog who fears motors is unconcerned.) Feels solid. Battery seems to be doing fine. We took it to a park yesterday and she was on it about 45 minutes nonstop, probably 2 miles, mostly on an asphalt walking track but she also had no trouble rolling across short grassy areas to maintain social distancing. Easily paired with her iPod although I'm not sure when she can use this feature without annoying us or strangers ;). Cons: It's so heavy we worried about it dying some distance from the car. I wish there was a safe way to incorporate a strap or snap-on handle so it could be carried or dragged more easily. It vibrates occasionally - I think it's how she rides but haven't figured it out yet. The little cap for the battery port is soft rubber and keeps falling off - not protecting the port from dirt and I suspect the cap will be lost or damaged soon. Tomoloo Cons (this is the real reason for 4 stars): English on sales materials and website is so bad that some information is incomprehensible - Tomoloo must be making a fortune on these so it's time to use some of that money for a proper translator. Many models without proper explanation of the differences and which one is being listed for what price. I ultimately relied on photos of each model (differences in wheels and fenders) to feel relatively confident I was buying a Q2-C. I think there are two or three Amazon listings that are for the same models, which didn't help. Finally, it seems the way to get a free bag is to write a 5-star review. How is that "legal"? I never give a 5-star review to a company that offers incentives for 5-star reviews as I think it's totally unethical, and it makes me question a lot of them on here (especially the ones who complain but still award 5 stars.) Overall, really great hoverboard so far, but Tomoloo needs improve their website and listings and stand behind their product without hiding behind the "free gift" crutch. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Good evening TOMOLOO! We recently purchased two hoverboards for both our boys. We were contacted by you about leaving a review for two free bags for each hoverboard we bought. I left a 5 star review along with a video. These were honestly the best Christmas presents we could have ever bought. Both our boys said it was the best present ever. Not only did they love them our 4 nephews tried them and had a blast. My son saved all his birthday money to buy this hoverboard and he LOVES it! Seems pretty well made, works great inside and outside. We haven’t rode it in the grass but on the concrete it’s a smooth ride. He really likes the fact that he can listen to music on it too!! *UDATED REVIEW* Customer service is not being reasonable at all, the top piece came apart from the bottom piece on one side of the board and when we unscrewed it to take a look we saw that almost every screw hole was busted. I contacted customer service and they want me to pay to ship the entire board back to them. I went to the post office to check on pricing for that....$70 is what it will cost for me to send it back. I am unsure as to why they can’t just send me the piece that is broken and we can screw the top and bottom back together. My son had the board for about 2 weeks before it broke. I am waiting to hear back from them to see if they are going to make this right. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We purchased this Tomoloo hoverboard for our 13-year-old daughter for Christmas and are THRILLED. It is sturdy, steady, and reliable. It charged easily out of the box and the charge generally lasts more than an hour with constant use. She already knew how to ride a hoverboard, so there was no learning curve, but I’ve noticed that this one has more speed and maneuverability than the hoverboard she learned on. She has been using the hoverboard both inside and outside (one sidewalks at a park) constantly every day during her winter break with no problems. She does spins, starts/stops and corners with ease now, and the board keeps up with her easily! She also loves the lights and Bluetooth speaker, which is actually quite good. We did a lot of research before purchasing this hoverboard, looking for a reasonable priced but high-quality, battery-safe board, and we are extremely pleased with this one. ... show more

    • Don’t waste your money

Rarely am I disappointed with a product enough to give it a negative review. This is one of those rarities. I purchased this for my daughter for her birthday. One of the wheels kept freezing while she was riding, thus throwing her off. I exchanged it thinking we might have simply received a defective one. The new one we received does the exact same thing! When she rides it, the wheel randomly freezes up. Get a different brand and save your money... it’s not worth risking your child’s safety. Now I can’t even get my money back. ... show more

    • 8 year old LOVES it but plug is tricky to connect

Santa brought this to our 8 year old and she LOVES it. She practiced on the carpet a few times before riding on the tile. Battery is sufficient but connecting the charging cable to the board is tricky and I have to help. The plug into the board fits very specifically with a hard-to-see notch that must be perfectly aligned in a very small space with no room for light to guide it. Hence, 4 stars since I’d rather not need to be involved. We haven’t tried the Bluetooth speaker. Lights are awesome. All of her friends want to ride it. ... show more
