I purchased this to use for lap swimming at the pool. The only real issue is not with the trunks themselves but with the drawstring. The string has a great amount of elasticity, and after about two laps, it required retying as the pants became loose due to the stretching of the string. As one might imagine, though it was a great excuse to take a break, it was quite annoying and, to an extent, embarrassing at times. I attempted to remove the sting and replace it with a new string, only to find that it was unable to be removed. It appeared to be attached in several locations to the trunks via a stitch or two. I did not return them as they will work great for just going to the beach and such, just not for lap swimming. ... show more

The shorts are a bit loose I would suggest get a size smaller then usual and if you like below the knee shorts these are perfect, I prefer above the knee so they are a big long. Besides that the materials feel great not thin at all and super comfortable.
