  • PUT THIS ON YOUR REGISTRY! Your Friend doesn't know she needs this - get it for her.
Design: Food Warmer
I have been looking for an on-the-go warmer for months. I actually thought there might be one I could plug into a car outlet, but no luck. This was on my Amazon suggestions and I thought it was dumb. I mean, come on - a Tommee Tippee specific bottle warmer? For that price it must be junk. I searched and searched and finally decided "what the he**? I'll just go for it." THIS THING HAS CHANGED MY LIFE! No more trying to warm a bottle with my hands, my thighs, behind my bra. No more paying .99 for a "cup" to simply fill with hot water to warm a bottle. No more asking a waiter to bring a bowl or some kind of container of hot water and watching them scramble to try and find something that fits a Tommee Tippee bottle. (B/C you know they are FAT!). You just boil some water before you leave, put it into the thermos, and go! Pros: Keeps water hot (enough) to warm a bottle for HOURS! We went to Texas RenFest and the water was warm from 9a-9p. The white cup is the perfect size to put the TT bottle in. You don't get that with "just a thermos." The white cup goes over the thermos so it's all in one place. You do not have to take the top of the thermos off to pour water into the cup. Low tech - no need to find an outlet - so you don't have to run back to the car if you are at your other child's soccer game/swim meet/scouting event in the middle of nowhere.... You can also warm other drinks/food in the cup, not only anything Tommee Tippee. Avent bottles, food pouches, even jars of food fit into this cup. Tall bottles like Dr. Browns will fit in this cup! Cost pro- once you purchase this, you do not have to buy additional special heating packs or accessories. I remember seeing a product at B.B.Babystore that could warm items with their special packs. It was not available when I began my search. Cons: If you overfill the thermos and try to put the top on, you might burn yourself with the hot water (this is no fault of the thermos). (True story) Hard to remember if thermos is open or shut. My mother left it open on the way back from somewhere and a bit of the water leaked out. It is one more thing to carry along. (But you're already carrying 20 lbs of related gear, so what's a bit more, right? haha) The cup is too big to fit into a car cup holder, so if using in a vehicle you'll have to hold it. If I know we are going to be out for a while I will pour the water from the cup back into the thermos. Sometimes it's hard to find a place to dump the water after use. I sincerely hope my review on this item helps you. I read a ton of the reviews and wasn't convinced until I purchased and used this item for myself. NOTE: I did not purchase this item to keep water hot in order to make bottles. I purchased ONLY for warming purposes. I would not use the water poured back in for making bottles. You can use the water to make bottles and warm bottles if you didn't return the used water to the container. (I wanted to be sure I said that so no one worries that I'm giving my little dude dirty water!) ... show more

  • Does What It Says
Design: Food Warmer
This is basically a thermos with a cup to put the bottle and water in to warm it. You basically boil water and keep it in the thermos so if you are out some where or it's the middle of the night or you just don't water to wait for water to boil for every bottle you already have the water ready. Some people are critical of that but it works well for us. We switched our kids to soft tipped sippy cups at 5.5 months so they can hold it with handles (the Nuk kind) and those fit in this cup too. It doesn't hold a ton of water, maybe enough for three or four small bottles (2-3oz) and two 6-8oz bottles. The reason it depends isn't because of the bottle size but how much formula needs to be warmed up. Obviously more formula needs more hot water to heat it up. How long it takes depends how hot the water was when you put it in and how long it's been sitting. Here has been my experience: We make homemade formula so it is always cold from the fridge (this might also be the case if you are using thawed breast milk or refrigerated formula from concentrate). If you are using room temp formula made from the powdered stuff your times will definitely be much shorter. If you fill it up with the hottest water you can get (we use a tea kettle because it's easier to pour) before you go to bed and your baby wakes up twice at night for no more than 4oz, you will likely still have enough for a third bottle first thing in the morning. The first bottle will heat up the fastest - about 3 minutes (so one you change baby's diaper you won't have to wait too much). The second and third ones might take 5 minutes but that's still not as bad as going to the kitchen, waiting for water to boil, plus waiting for the bottle to heat up. When we were doing night feedings we kept enough bottles for the night in a lunch box with a few ice packs so we wouldn't have to go to the kitchen. We use about 6-7oz now. If you fill it up until the bottle starts to float a little you will maybe have to wait 3-4 minutes for the first bottle and 5-8 minutes for the second one (especially if you don't have enough water. If you're worried about running out of hot water during long trips or outings, keep in mind most gas stations have hot water ready and are happy to fill up your thermos if you've run empty or the water has gotten too cold. And in all likelihood you won't have to stop to warm up the next bottle. 8 hours is about the max for keeping water hot enough to warm something from the fridge. Update - We used this for a year with my now 2 year old and have been using it for the past 6 months with our youngest. We've dropped it on the ground outside a few times so it's a little dented and scratched but it hasn't affected usage. It still stays warm just as long. We have since gotten an electric kettle (with auto shut off since my husband almost caught the house on fire with the regular stove kettler we were using). This works perfectly when we travel because we can plug in the kettle even at a hotel when we have no stove. And if you were going to travel a lot and be in the car you could get an adapter so you could plug it into your car lighter. ... show more

  • Bottle holder lid is the best part
Design: Food Warmer
Works okay. Keeps water hot for decent amount of time. The lid part which holds the bottle has been the best - we actually use it with a different thermos.

  • Life saver!

This has been so helpful for heating up my baby bottles when out and about. The water stays hot for hours. So convenient. I have bought two over the years . I would definitely recommend for all moms out there who need an easy way to heat up their bottles.
