  • Nice Shoe - SIze Chart issues for me
Size: 10.5 Color: Black - Triple Strap Spd
This seems like a real high quality shoe, construction seems solid, they are light weight, etc. Straps are real solid and tongue is comfortable, bottom is stiff and responsive. I have only a couple of minor comments which caused me to rate 4 instead of 5, but if this is not important to the buyer, then you can consider this a 5 rating. 1) True to fit - I use size 44 shoes and these 10.5s (for which the size chart indicates 44) are considerably larger than my other 4 pairs of size 44. Some sources say 10.5 = 44, others say 10.5 = 45. Some even say size 11 = 44. The inconsistency is significant and annoying. These 10.5s are about what a 10.5 sneaker would be, however, I take 10.5 in a running shoe and 10.0 in a bike shoe which apparently is size 43 for this brand. I have a pair of 43.5 bike shoes that are a size 9 equivalent I don't want to blame this one company who makes a great shoe and will use these in the winter with thick socks - but can someone get the conversion correct? I have had no issues when buying shoes based on the Euro sizes which seem very consistent compared to US sizes. 2) I purchased these with SPD cleats. I should have checked them because they were not torqued nearly enough and the cleat rotated while I was out on my first ride. I would say this is mostly my fault - I should not have assumed the cleats would be installed tight enough and should have checked them. ... show more

  • Great for wide feet
Size: 10 Color: Black - Knit Lace Up
These shoes are perfect for a comfortable Peloton ride. I purchased these based on the reviews highlighting wide feet, and I am glad I did. They are very comfortable for my EE foot, and I believe they are a much more substantial shoe than my wife got from Peloton. I could not be any more pleased.

  • Inferior to many other brand options for the peloton bike
Size: 9 Color: Knit Triple Strap - Delta Cleat
There seems to be something not right with these included bike cleats. The shoes fit tight and were too narrow which was surprising as all my other bike shoes are right on. The underlying cleat clips shifted in the pedals even when tightened to the max. The quality was sub par overall. I quickly returned these and went with a pair of Venzo cycling shoes and they are A+ , fit great with non of the issues with these Tommaso shoes. Sorry for being honest, but they seemed like low budget shoes. I have owned multiple brands of cycling shoes for my Peloton Bike including both versions of Peloton brand shoes and these were inferior to all the others. ... show more

  • Good shoe but fell apart UPDATE
Size: 13 Color: Knit Triple Strap - Delta Cleat
In under 3 months of use, solely indoors on a Peloton, these are comfortable and supportive. The top eyelet on one shoe, however, has given out. I don't dare to tighten the strap for fear it will rip through. Too bad, I like the shoes. The Tommaso folks reached out within 2 days of the original post. I sent them a pic of the shoes and had a new pair with a few days. These are perfect for the Peloto, day in and day out. Thanks. ... show more

  • Beware: Dangerous and Bad if Used with SPD Cleats on Road
Size: 10 Color: Black - Ratchet Buckle Spd
These might be fine for spinning but they are pretty terrible out on the road, at least with SPD cleats and pedals. I've been riding with SPD shoes and pedals for a couple of years now and have no problems with them until now. Most of these shoes have a little tread around the edges and the cleat sits in a little depression. That means that if you miss clipping in, you can still push the pedals anyway a least until you get across the intersection and can take the time to clip in properly. Not so with these shoes. With these shoes, there is no tread and the cleat sits way proud of the sole, and the sole itself is as hard and smooth as a billiard ball, so if you miss clipping in starting out from a stop, you're in big trouble. If you try to push the pedal anyway just so you can get moving, your foot will fly right off the pedal, and you may fall down because you can't get any forward momentum. My SPD pedals are one-sided. If they were two-sided it might be a little better, but it's still very dicey. And actually getting clipped in isn't as easy as it is with normal SPD shoes or even with regular SPD-SL road shoes, because since the cleat is so high up off the sole, there's no way to really feel if you have the tiny little cleat in the right place until you press down. If it clicks, you're in, if it doesn't, then you're moving slowly down the road with almost no way to pedal and keep upright. You can learn to anticipate this problem and compensate with the other foot (assuming you keep it clipped in), but not always, and it looks and feels awkward. Another dumb thing about these shoes in SPD configuration is, you can't really walk in them. Road cyclists who use SPD shoes instead of Look or SPD-SL shoes do so because they want to be able to walk around a little if needed. Well guess what; with SPD cleats on these shoes, you get all of the drawbacks of SPD-SL and none of the benefits. I got a flat on my first day out with these shoes, and I had to hike a little bit to get away from the busy road to a place where I could deal with the flat. That meant climbing up a dirt embankment carrying my bike... and I almost didn't make it. This is why I use SPD shoes with my road bike... I don't want to walk around like a crippled penguin, and I'm willing to give up the aero and power transfer benefits of SPD-SL in order to be able to walk normally. With these shoes, welcome to the worst of both worlds. The shoes themselves are too big. Most bike shoes on me are too tight in the width, but these go the other way. They look like a pair of squished foot long submarine sandwiches on my feet. But they are comfortable, and the sole is as stiff as any of my other shoes. Also, the vent in the sole does push some nice cool air onto the toes from time to time. Finally, there is the float. I thought I liked float, but these babies are like my feet and ankles are on swivels. I don't know exactly how much float I'm getting in degrees, but it's a hell of a lot more than it should be. I could be the cleats that were supplied with the shoes, or it could be due to the cleat sitting on the outside of the shoe with nothing to limit the amount your ankle can twist. There's no notch/depression for the cleat, no tread, nothing to keep your ankles more or less straight, except the cleat itself, and the cleat itself isn't working very hard. I really regret buying these. I absolutely hate them. Please, if you're looking for shoes to use on the road or trail with SPD cleats, look elsewhere. These are just awful for that use case. ... show more
