    • This Kit Amazingly Covers It All for a Complicated Timing System
These German engines are engineered with a lot of moving parts, to say it nicely. OK, they're complicated. My Touareg (it's an Arabic word, means "wanderer," look it up) was doing its own wandering around with one of its timing chains clinking just enough to hear and that was a bad sign meaning it could skip time and squish valves at any moment. This timing kit was the solution and it had EVERYthing. The guys at the shop put it in for me and it was a half-day's job for them, and they complained a bit because it is complicated - and everything needs to align just right, but that's true of the engine, not of this kit. Important thing is the kit had high quality parts and everything needed, all the many chains and sprockets, were included, and each part was very good. Now the sound is gone and the timing won't be jumping and I'm very happy. It's a very complete and well-made kit. ... show more

    • Chain stretched and began to knock
the chain stretched and started knocking after about 5000 miles. probably made of the wrong material the tensioner broke.
