I waterproofed prior to wearing as I purchased to work an acre of hillside landscaping. Nothing delicate or flat. Comfortable. Durable. No break-in required. I purchased my normal size and wear with a medium thickness sock - though enough room to go more chunky. I scrunch the sock down to prevent dirt from entering into the boot...and it looks cuter! ... show more

So far I’m very happy with these boots. I have flat feet and need a wide width. I need some sturdiness, but not too stiff or hard. I ordered my usual size and they fit perfectly. Plenty of toe room, no rubbing or sore spots. I wear them every day, all day. I did take out the insoles and put in a pair of Powerstep soles, they work best for me. I’m not working, just retired and doing yard work, housework, cooking, shopping; I can’t say how long they will last, or if they are good for a work environment. ... show more

Love the style and the boot only getting 4 stars because right felt fantastic but there's something wrong with the left it's extremely uncomfortable in the back on the heel. I'm trying to break them in but getting blisters all over my heel. Went down a half size size.

    • MUST BREAK IN before wearing!

I was so excited when I opened the box & saw my “Tims” They’re a rich color & looked amazing. As I tried them on, I noticed they were very stiff & painfully tight. I attempted to walk around, to get a feel for them after I laced them up. But the vice-grip they had on my feet wasn’t allowing it. I could barely stand or walk in them at all. I was certain I would return them. I was disappointed because I really wanted to keep them. The next day I found an effective & easy way to break in your Timberland boots, so that they conform to your feet. This is important so that you don’t get blisters or painful rubbing. Squeeze your boots on with your thickest pair of Socks. Walk around for a few hours indoors. (At first, it may be pretty uncomfortable. It may pinch or even hurt. Don’t give up! This will slowly go away the longer you wear them & heat them.) While wearing boots schedule a couple of blow drying sessions. Take a blow dryer, in a HOT setting and direct the blast of hot air towards the areas where you feel discomfort and/or pinching, for 20 seconds. (Don’t worry. The heat will not damage or discolor the leather! It will safely stretch the leather:) Walk around immediately after each of the blow dryer sessions. Be sure to allow the areas that are heated to cool off before removing the boots! (I highly recommend a visit to Timberland website, as they have several recommendations on how to safely stretch & conform their boots. Don’t try any alterations to your new boots without personally researching them first.) It took me 3 hours & about 4-blow dryer, hot air applications to adequately break in my boots. This really worked! My boots looked slightly creased & conformed into the shape of my feet. However, the color looked brand new. Now they fit like they were made for just for me! ... show more

These boots are my go - to. This is my second pair and I think they deserve a review now. I used one pair for an entire year working on the production floor at my job. This includes tons of wood dust, wet paint, and heavy objects. I'm not recommending them in place of steel toed boots, but they've done the trick for me at my job. Not only that, but I felt sturdy and supported enough to hike with these. They took quite the beating over a year, and the only reason that I replaced them was because I wore the back soles down too much to have tread/walk evenly. The rest of the boot was completely intact, and were still water resistant. During heavy rains my socks never got wet. I wore them in shallow snow when it wasn't able to get in from the top of the boot. I can't recommend them enough because they're also so fashionable! I've cleaned them up and worn them out with my nice outfits too. These are the kind of boots you don't have to worry about getting dirty, but you can clean them up if you need to. They felt a little heavy at first but I quickly got used to them. Oh and also important to note, they take 2 weeks to break in. I got horrible sores on the top of my ankles from the tongues being so stiff when they were new. I used heavy socks and Band-Aids to get through that. Once you get past that part and break them in they will not fail you. I bent the tongues back and forth to try and speed that up. ... show more
