Got this for under $4 on a sale, already had the pro model for a year and have been happy with it. This model while almost the same is slightly taller than the pro model which gives more room for looser card pockets which was one of the pro models major flaws. The pro model came with a cool metal tin which would make it seem like a nicer gift. This one feels lighter even though it's taller and made of the same exterior fabric, it's also missing the extra lining in the card pockets which is actually a plus. This model has a nicer color of interior lining imo, all around the stitching appears to be exactly the same. If regular price spend the extra couple of dollars for the pro model simply for the gift tin, I'm hard on wallets and the pro has made it a year and still going, when it gives it I'll rotate this one in and hope it lasts just as long. Will update after actually using it but for now this was the best value I've gotten for a wallet in the 25 years I've been carrying them, pretty sure a Velcro wallet was 5.99 at Walmart in the 90s. ... show more

I was super drawn to this wallet as I REALLY liked the sleek design (all black wallet with the white Timberland logo) as well as the price. The only thing I didn't entirely like was that it was velcro. Timberland doesn't make any similar looking non-velcro wallets, at least that I could find, so I went with this anyway. Upon receiving, I realized I really loved the look of it and the quality but was going to hate using it as the velcro is VERY strong and VERY noisy when opening. It attaches VERY STRONG, of course, because it's velcro. Some will buy it just for that feature, however I wanted a simple wallet that looked like this one, really without the velcro. So I took to google. HOW TO DULL VELCRO. At first I tried applying a small bit coconut oil to both pieces thinking it wouldn't stick as much but that didn't work, it had zero effect. Then I stumbled upon a site that said all you have to do is take a lighter and slightly melt the teeth side so it doesn't attach as strong. WOW, DUH. Makes sense. So that's what I did. I slightly melted some of the teeth so it still attaches but just barley. I'm fine with that. now there's virtually zero noise when opening but it attaches just enough to stay closed when not in use. and it didn't alter the look of it whatsoever. If you choose to do this, I suggest doing it in very tiny requirements to get it where you want it. Don't just take the lighter and melt the entire strip. Barley let the teeth touch the flame for a microsecond in a spot here and there, then see how it attaches, repeat as necessary until your satisfied. I figured i'd post this suggestion here as I've seen a few complaints about the velcro and was in the same boat. IT'S GREATEST WALLET EVER NOW THOUGH! ... show more

The nylon ones tend to slide out of pockets apparently. This does not. Also it was big enough for the recipient's cards. I thought it looked very nice as well.
