  • Third pair since I started wearing these in the late 1990s.
Size: 10 Color: Brown
My first two pairs of this boot lasted over a decade each. Since I put the second to bed about 12 years ago I have bought numerous other boots from many of the top manufacturers. I should have just gone back to Timberland for my Euro Hikers. They look good, classic leather, and they fit so well, I usually wear them year round instead of sneakers or snow boots. This pair I just bought 10 days ago fits like a glove. I hope they last as long as the previous ones did. ... show more

  • Not the same design as the original
I bought these boots as a replacement for a pair I had for about 20 years. The other reviews that mention the lack of gusseting on the tongue should be heeded. The tongue is only connected at the very base, so there is no seal or protection from dirt entering the shoe from the side of the tongue. The second design change was the thickness of the tongue at the top. As I said, I had another pair of these boots from years ago. The tongue on the new pair is outrageously and laughably thick. Even without the lack of gusseting, this issue was enough for me to send them back. I suppose I thought people were exaggerating in the other reviews, but be assured they were not. I have no idea why Timberland chose to basically ruin what had been a great boot. I really loved my original pair. They were comfortable and durable, and I completely wore them out. The rest of the boot was the same as the original, and the boots arrived in perfect condition and the fit was accurate and comfortable (except for the obese tongue). I returned the boots, and despite the claim of "free returns" the seller deducted about $5.00 from my refund. ... show more

  • Nice Quality Boots- Not True "Hiking Boots"
I have only had these boots for about a week. My experience is pretty limited, but I do have some first impressions. The Euro Hiker Boot has a quality feel and appearance. The leather is substantial and the sole seems good. Most importantly, the fit is really good right out of the box. The Euro Hikers have a steel shank that provides a more solid feel underfoot than all-rubber soles like the White Ledge boot. These are nice boots for casual wear and light hiking, however, they are not true hiking boots. The tongue is affixed only at the base which means it can shift position and may allow entry of debris and water. I downgrade them one star for this. Overall, these are still very good boots for the price and I expect they will see a lot of wear in the fall, winter, spring. ... show more

  • Fashionably attractive, and functional boot for downtown and the outdoors
Size: 11 Color: Brown
I bought these for my trip to Iceland,I got a half size smaller(9) than my regular 9.5, and they fit great after a short break in period. They're very good looking and extremely comfortable. They performed well siding my trip to Iceland, in snow, mud, sand, rocks, what have you. They were comfortable the entire time, and they were easy to clean once they got dirty (no crazy deep treads but yet still provided grip). Like others have said, it would have been nice if the tongue was a little wider to cover the two holes on each side, especially when walking through snow. But it's not a huge deal for me, since I won't walk in snow much. Overall, I'm so glad I found these boots I'll most likely buy them again in the future, they are attractive looking and functional at the same time. Great for just walking in the city, and also in the great outdoors. ... show more
