  • Happy Tiling :-)
Hello all! I wanted to update part of the kitchen that would entail: 1) a reasonably priced project (check), 2) not too difficult to install (need to be patient & having a steady hand helps), 3) will last (time will tell, but so far, so good) & 4) easy to clean. Enter...Tic Tac Tiles. Initially, I ordered a pack of 10 which went up well... In preparation of the project, it would behoove one to measure well in advance as to how many tiles you will need (if you are able, add a few extra - just to have on hand in case they are needed) . Also, know the tiles are quite sticky and will lose some adhesive if you need to keep removing and reapplying. My own error was not doing a correct measurement at the start of the project , so I had to order a couple additional packs of tiles. I do not have a proper before photo to show so an after may not do justice, but overall I am pleased. They have helped the kitchen take on a more modern and clean look! A big plus! *My best advice - Measure well before and during application, Line up the tiles the best you can to ensure a good seal where one tile ends & the next begins (this will help the look of them overall and also helps with cleaning as you want all the edges to be flush with the wall). There are a few areas I needed to either line up better, the adhesive was giving (and/or the wall was not completely smooth which was my issue & not the tiles) so a few edges are not as smooth as all the others. So, learn from me, and make sure to line the tiles up properly from the first application and as you go, use a smoothing tool to make sure the tiles are stuck to the wall as well as they can be and again, are flush with the wall...Double check those corners & edges and you should be pleased! Lastly, ideally it is best to have a smooth surface to work with....This will give the best outcome. The tiles need a smooth, flat surface to do their job well. I had a question/concern at the end of the project regarding a few tiles adhesive and contacted the company. They responded straight away, were nice & helpful, answered any concerns/questions and were pleasant doing business with. I hope this helps a little & happy tiling! :-) ... show more

  • Work Right to left for flawless finish! Work Right to left for flawless finish!
Color: Bella Size: 10 Sheets
Fantastic product! My kitchen looks great with this. The adhesive seems very strong. I still used some spray-on adhesive because of wall defects and I advise to have some on hand. I also used silicone/caulk to seal the free edges and give it a real tiled look (feel free to use grout that comes in a tube but to me silicone/caulk is more malleable). I'm desperate to find something white to trim it with (at this point will settle for white electral tape). IMPORTANT: this works best if installed from RIGHT to LEFT, unlike other tiles this has a varied design in each tile so you can't just connect anywhere. Has to be in a straight line across for a seamless look. In one wall I started left to right, and it was a HEADACHE having to hold the overlap edge with the backing until I was ready for the next tile. Also not 10×10, about .5 inch smaller on either side. Idk much about square footage but I used 40 tiles to achieve my look. I have a small galley-style kitchen in a "post-war" NYC building.....sooo basically TINY. Had no full tiles left over. I found cutting with scissors to be easier than a box cutter, more control. Seems easy to clean but we'll see after a few months. Get a squeegee, or something similar, to press tiles firmly in place (better than your hand). Drawing a line across before hand is a great guide to use. Unfortunately for me my floor isnt level, so neither is the counter etc. I followed the edges of my cabinets and counters and did fairly well. Not sure if anyone will find this tip useful but I labeled the back of my tiles with "Top/Bottom" "Left/Right" whenever I had to designate a tile to be cut. Made it easier for me to reuse the tiles quickly e/o having to figure out where they go. If you like the counters: white primer (one that doesnt require sanding, 3 $.70 bottles of acrylic paint from Michael's and 2 boxes of epoxy resin top coat (about $60) ... show more

  • Updated and clean kitchen Updated and clean kitchen
Color: Bella Size: 10 Sheets
Okay, so last weekend I decided to update/change my kitchen. For 11 years I had a plain white counter top and no backsplash. We updated pretty much everything in the house but the kitchen. As many know, the cost for a new kitchen would be too much and wasn't an option for me. First, I stumbled upon the Giani Granite kit Chocolate Brown. Basically you paint the counter tops to look like granite. It was a 3 day project and turned out good. Second, a backsplash was definitely needed to complete the look. I purchased another brand but the colors were off and came upon this product. Honestly, it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I didn't rush the project, but it took me around 3 hours and two days. You must order more because the tiles are not sized right, they are smaller and I needed another box. The quality is good, they look like tiles but when you go up close, you can tell they they are not real. You have to go slow and try to attach the tile sheet at first attempt. If you keep removing it from the wall, it loses the glue and won't stick to the wall. I wasted around 3 tile sheets because it wouldn't align right. At first, I also sprayed some adhesive glue just in case, but really it's not needed. I tried to measure and level everything, but it was hard to do with 2 young kids interrupting all the time. Later on, I will add caulk around the countertops and may add grout to keep it securely in place. First picture is when I painted the black primer over the counter top and no backsplash. Others are when project is completed. You can notice some of my mistakes, but overall it has changed the look of the kitchen, it looks updated and clean. ... show more

  • Looks Beautiful! and is a very easy DIY project Looks Beautiful! and is a very easy DIY project
Color: Bella Size: 10 Sheets
I have been contemplating using this in my RV for over a year. I was afraid it would look fake and cheap (but it doesn't). Lucky for me a friend of ours used it and once I saw theirs I knew I wanted to use it in my RV too! It was very easy to cut and place on the wall. We used a utility cutter and a straight edge to cut it since I am not very good at cutting straight lines with scissors! Everyone that has seen it is amazed at how real it looks! It is perfect for an RV because it is so light weight and we didn't want the weight of traditional tile and all that goes along with it to add to our gvw. Also, we didn't want the mess of the traditional tile, not to mention the price. This stuff is very sticky, if you need to make an adjustment you can but it is very hard to peel back off the wall. Be sure to only peel back the paper on the back slightly until you get the perfect alignment. This is a great deal and it sure does make a difference! We love it! I do recommend getting the "Aspect 24 Peel and Stick Decorative Wall Tile Trim" for the edges. It comes in a few colors and you can use spray paint for plastic if you want a different color. I used the spray paint color Oil Rubbed Bronze on my trim because I wanted a darker brown and also wanted it to match other accents in my RV. ... show more

  • Amazing product!! Amazing product!!
Color: Bella Size: 10 Sheets
UPDATE: It has been almost two years since we first put up these tiles in our kitchen and they are still holding strong! None have peeled up or came off whatsoever. As I mentioned in my first review we ordered a few extra boxes we did not need and this past weekend we added shelving and these tiles to the other side of our kitchen. I added a picture to show before and after as well. I highly recommend this product. I'm looking into possibly purchasing different ones for our bathroom update in the near future! Get these, you will not be disappointed! We ordered this to finish our kitchen remodel. Real glass tile is expensive, so after a few months of researching we ended up purchasing this. We ordered 10 boxes of 10 tiles, thinking we would need about 8 boxes, and ended up only needing 4 1/2 boxes. You really need to measure well, or you will end up ordering way more than you need. These things are amazing! They are really sticky, but you can pull them off and restick them if you positioned it wrong and they stick just as good. They look beautiful in our kitchen, and it finally feels like it is finished! The package came in 3 days, and it was delivered on Easter Sunday! This is the best thing if your trying to revamp your space on a budget. I have already recommended this to several people and will continue doing so, great product! ... show more

  • Hard to install....small material....very expensive. Hard to install....small material....very expensive.

I write this review for Tic Tac Tiles right after doing a backsplash with another company’s product (Art3d). I am not a novice by any means, and I do renovation work frequently. Other than the thickness of Tic Tac Tiles, there’s nothing about this product that would make me want to use this again. For starters, the product is smaller than Art3d (which is 12x12). It says that the product is 10 inches, but by the time you peel off the side strip (WHAT is up with that by the way???) you only have 8.5 inches wide of total product. WHAT?! So you see how you can easily underestimate how much you need (and guess what- then you have to buy more!)?? Then, you can only work from right to left. With Art3d you can work from any which way you want and they have the overlap on both sides with NO stupid sticker to peel each time. There were times in this kitchen where I had to work from left to right but Tic Tac Tiles didn’t provide that option. Lastly, the tiles. Oh my word, the Tiles. There are so many different lengths to the Tiles (and the grout lines are GREEN, not GRAY as shown in photos), that it makes it near impossible to match once you get to the small space below the cupboards where a whole panel won’t fit. Sure it looks good from far away- but don’t dare get up close or you will see where it all went wrong with Tic Tac Tiles! As you can see, I am HIGHLY dissatisfied with this product. And now guess what- I get to go buy more because they LIED about the actual size of the product once you rip the sticker off the side. Soooo not happy. Never buying Tic Tac Tiles ever again after this project!!! ... show more

  • looks great, easy to use
Color: Bella Size: 10 Sheets
Easy to, adhesive was very sticky at first. So sticky that you must be carful when applying as if it sticks to another piece in the wrong area it is difficult to get apart. Another thing to remember when applying, do not go in the opposite direction that you originally started going in, the piece will not match up... I should have known that. Looked great was ecstatic about the product, gave a new look to my kitchen. A week later started to peel around the edges I was going to add a glue behind it because I liked the product so much but with my work schedule I did not get around to it. Last night came home it was just about completely off the wall. If it was not for the stove holding the piece up it would have been off the wall. If I had the time to glue it up I would have and therefore would have not have been disappointed but at the time for the money it should have stayed stuck to the wall for more than 2 weeks. ... show more

  • WOW factor for a rental house WOW factor for a rental house
Color: Bella Size: 10 Sheets
I had put these (a different brand/style/color) in our past camper's kitchen, so I have previous experience installing, and had no hesitation in putting these in a renter home. Ordering from Amazon was considerably cheaper than a big-box store. No, they do not look exactly like glass tiles. But they did freshen up my renter kitchen for cheap. The couple that was the first to view the home for possibly renting, was amazed and loved the look of these in the kitchen. The adhesion value was great, they went on and with planning and pressure, they have stuck nicely after being on for a month so far (on a freshly painted surface). Just plan them out, and use an extremely sharp knife and straight edge to cut. The seams are virtually invisible. Had to reposition a few and was easy if I didn't apply pressure until I was sure of placement. I didn't rush and the time you put in is worth the end result. Easy to wipe off and keep clean. The actual color matched pretty close to what you view online. The ones I received have a little more of a "red-tan" look instead of the "yellow-tan" color of the cupboards, but it is a minor issue. I'm a designer so I'm extremely sensitive to color-matching and I know it is impossible to represent color 100% online vs. actual. Everyone who looked at the kitchen didn't notice the difference. I'm extremely picky and expect exactness. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. Remember, you are not buying high-end glass tiles and grout. You are buying sticky plastic. I felt they were worth it to freshen up a rental home without looking tacky and breaking the bank. ... show more
