I like this batting. I’ve ordered and used various sizes. On first arrival I was put off by the thin cotton layer and obvious layer of scrim. It seemed flimsy and not at all like the cotton batting I have used before. But I tried it and I like the finished product. I used these to create doggy and cat quilts for adoptions at a local animal shelter. While I cannot comment on their long term longevity, I expect it to be fine. I typically use 3-7” spacing for quilts with this scrim feature. No free motion, just walking foot lines of all types of designs. I have even used 5” stitch in the ditch spacing for larger patch quilts and the quilt holds together with washing and drying. Would I use it for baby quilts?…sure, I think so. It works well with minky backing and walking foot quilt lines as well as cotton quilt sandwiches with binding. I can whip these doggy quilts out 2/day. Will adopters wash and dry appropriately?…I don’t know but being able to quilt with 5-10” spacing is what makes scrim batting so doable. I recommend it. ... show more

I purposely ordered this because I was looking for thin batting. This so far has been perfect. It's a good lightweight batting. I'm able to run this through a regular machine, along with the top and bottom fabric without any problems. I left the layer of scrim on it as I'm working on my quilt. I kind of wish I had removed it, but I think that will be more personal preference, as this is only the second quilt I've ever made, so it's not like I have professional advice for anyone on quilting. ... show more

I used the 60” x 60” Natural Throw Quilt Batting for a recent project and was very pleased with the overall quality. The size was perfect for a throw, and I appreciated not having to piece smaller sections together. It has a soft feel with a nice, medium loft that adds warmth without making the quilt too heavy. It was easy to quilt through and didn’t shift much during sewing. After washing, it softened up nicely and kept its shape well. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it had just a bit more loft for extra fluff. Overall, though, it’s a reliable, good-quality batting that I would use again. ... show more

This batting just disintegrated in the wash, destroyed the things in the washer with them. Terrible product I would love my money back for this and the fabric it ruined. DONT BUY IT!
