I had read the reviews saying that the item shrank after washing but the pattern was so cute I couldnt pass the item up. I didn't think to take a picture before I washed it, but it came oversized. I would say there was about an extra 6 inches on both sides! I washed it on cold and then used the delicate cycle in the dryer (lowest heat setting) and it shrank considerably. However, the company must've listened to the reviews and updated their product because after I washed it it fits perfectly in my playpen! So yes, it shrinks like crazy but they've accounted for it now so after you wash it it will perfectly! I give it only 4 stars because it's not very thick and I'll have to put foam tiles under it so that my baby isn't laying on the hard ground essentially. But all in all I love this mat! ... show more

Really nice. Easy to clean. A little hard to fold and get back in the bag. Was the perfect size for our 50” x 50” play yard until we washed and dried it. I washed it on delicate cold and dried it on our ultra cool setting. It still shrunk over an inch on all sides. I’m pretty disappointed because the size was perfect. We put it over foam tiles in the play yard. It’s not thick. We first used it for his birthday party at his great-grandmas and we still put a quilt over it. He bonked his head on the ground through both, and it hurt. He cried. They don’t seems to make these thick enough or sturdy enough. My biggest complaints are that it shrunk and it’s thin. ... show more

It will hold certain stains a bit more than other stains and I definitely recommend air drying it but that’s up to you. It’s cute and works for keeping my daughter off the floor.
