This is basically a prepaid data-only SIM card from UK's Three. Upon receiving the SIM card prior to my trip to Colombia from the US, I contacted the seller to activate the SIM card, and it worked in the US (also received a text message from UK's Three). The data also worked fine when I landed in Colombia, but the network speed was pretty slow and spotty (4G, around 1 Mbps on my unlocked iPhone 12). The amount of data (10GB) was more than enough for my short visit, and it continuously worked in the US for the remainder of the thirty days. Interestingly, I created my account on the Three UK website using the SIM card information I had after the trip, and it looks like I could renew the data plan if I wanted for only £10 per month. And I will even get 20GB if auto renewed every month including UK's unlimited minutes and texts. Overall, I was happy I had the data connection during the trip, and I think it's a great deal if I kept the SIM active and used it as a data-only plan in the US and 71 other countries, if only I could visit so many in the future. ... show more

Despite being one of the advertised 71 countries, this sim did not work to contact ANY United States number via text or call within the US before I left, as well as outside of the US when I was in Europe. The whole point was to be able to stay in contact and I had to download a wifi messaging app. Super frustrating. Furthermore somehow after 30minutes of calls to a euro number, I got a notice that my card was out of credit and needed to be topped up?! It would no longer let me send or receive texts or make calls. Not the “unlimited” that was advertised! So disappointed!! The only star is for ease of installation and the fact that the data at least worked. I never came close to the limit so I can’t comment if it was the full advertised 10gb or not, but call and text was fully false advertising and I would not recommend to purchase this. ... show more

    • Works well and is economical

In the past I have bought a sim card at the airport in whatever country I was visiting. Prices and amount of data were all over the place, plus the service was always in the local language, making texts from the supplier difficult or impossible to understand. I bought this item from Amazon this fall and used it for a 17-day trip to Belgium and France. It worked in each country and during a transfer in Dublin. No problems other than it took an hour or more for the service to be re-established after crossing a border. I put it in my phone the day before I left, followed directions, and the next morning I was in business. Instructions are clear. I will buy this for my next trip if it is available. In addition to using email and browser, I use it with Google Maps and similar apps, and it was always available. (I did download local maps in U.S. before I left, just in case.) Like many or most of these sim cards, it doesn't give you actual telephone service, as far as I can tell, but you can use Skype to get around that. I usually just ask a local, e.g., a hotel clerk, to make a call if needed. ... show more

When planning our trip through Greece and Italy, we determined our needs would be to be able to call hotels, AirBnb's, make reservations, communicate with each other, and use our phones for navigation and other information on the net. Secondary was being able to call friends or family at home in the US. When looking at these cards, I was not sure about international calling or texting, but we were fine with doing that using WI-FI calling and messaging by email or Facebook Messenger. These SIMs worked perfectly at a very reasonable price. Installing was easy. We have iPhone 6s Plus phones and on a 2 hour layover in Frankfurt, I replace our SIMs and after restarting the phones we were on with no issues or changes in phone settings. Throughout the three weeks in Greece and Italy we had good coverage and reasonably fast Internet. We were able to text and call our Airbnb hosts with no issues. As I said, if international calling and texting to the US is critical, this may not be the card for you, but if you need service throughout Europe, these are perfect. ... show more

    • Good value - Switzerland and Singapore

I bought it for recent trip to Switzerland and Singapore. Set it up a couple days before with a designated activation date. Was able to test with data in US. Was able to use LTE in SF Bay Area (but no calls or texting allowed as indicated.) When I arrived in Switzerland, my phone automatically switched to Salt which has really bad connection. Eventually, I figured out in the iPhone Cellular->Network selection, there are more than one networks available. And when I switched to Sunrise, it was excellent. Was able to use it in Singapore too. Multiple networks are available in Singapore as well and of course there is no difference since it's a small country. Too bad it does not work in Malaysia. It will be excellent if it covers Malaysia as well. 5G is more than enough since Wifi is usually available in most places. ... show more

    • Rip off: Does not work for the specified time
This could have received 5 stars, because I travelled Europe with this sim and it worked relatively well in the multiple countries I visited. However, it gets 1 star because it randomly stopped working, well before my end date (of 30 days). I know this because they told me the exact end date/time. One day I got a text from Three saying there was an issue and they were working on it. I was confused by the text, but then shortly after that text message my service/data completely shut off. I also wasn’t close to going over my allotted time/data. <- which is also frustrating because I was careful with using it (probably too careful), I mostly kept my phone on airplane mode. I had a lot of data left over and it would have been nice to use it all towards the end. No customer support helped me. So yeah, I mean what else could I rate them? They robbed me. ... show more
