Train was cute with sounds but my 3 year old got his hair stuck in the wheels of of it ended up having to cut his hair cause it was pulling it out It also cut his skin and mine with the sharp back wheel it pinches so I would say get for little older child

The but is there is not a switch to turn off. I got 4 trains that talk and in middle of night they will talk to each other and run. Wearing out the batteries. So. ....

    • We Love Thomas!
Well, we've found my 2.5 year old's new favorite train! My boy absolutely LOVES Thomas, and has some older versions of him and his friends that require a thin switch being flipped on the top. What we love about this Thomas is the big red button that makes it so easy for him to shut it on or off on his own! No help needed. Thomas makes cute starting and stopping noises like a real train does. Some might see this as annoying, but it makes my little guy so happy. Thomas also has a warm golden headlight that turns on, which is a really fun extra feature. I think my only negative is that the cargo cover is just so dang hard to put on and also keep on the carts. It just doesn't want to stay put and at this point i'm pretty sure it's lost. My kid just constantly needed help putting it on and then it would'nt even stay attached. Everything else is great! Thomas's batteries are going strong months later and I loved that they were included. A great purchase for sure! ... show more

This is the new main engine on my sons track. The sounds are clear and I'm looking forward to adding more All Engines Go to see them interact. The button is a bit sensitive and with no power switch you do have to be intentional during storage to avoid him powering on.

I would honestly say my rating is closer to a 4.5 but that isn't an option. I do like it a lot, and so do my kids and let's be honest that's all that really matters. There was a small problem: Thomas came with a black smudge across his face/eye that I could not get off with a baby wipe or magic eraser. I was afraid if I tried anything else it would rub the face off. He also scared the pants off me when I opened the package because he was already on. That's not a problem, just made me laugh. Also be aware that if you have long hair like me (or long haired pets I imagine) that Thomas's wheels might get gunked up and he won't move. I was able to de-gross his wheel with tweezers. Again, not a problem with the toy itself but something I wanted to pass on. The tarp piece is also prone to falling off easily. On the plus side, it's a toy my kids love. He's easy for a 3 and 5 year old to use. They can hit his button to make him stop and go easily. They can also link and unlink the train pieces together after watching me do it once. They love that he talks, that he can move on his own, and how they can store things in his sections and send him to each other. He's also not too loud, and is a talking toy that can be turned on and off, which all parents can appreciate. It's a cute litle toy, and I'm sure I'll be buying the other train so they can play and interact with each other! ... show more
