We picked up the fshihine thickened boat cover (14–16 ft, 96" wide) for our 16 ft Monarch deep-V fishing boat. I’ve dealt with a few boat covers over the years, so I paid close attention to how easy it was to install, how substantial the material felt, and how securely it tightens once in place. How It’s Been Used: The cover was installed on our 16 ft deep-V fishing boat following the included instructions. It’s been used for outdoor storage and secured using the provided winch and cable system. What Worked Well: Easy Installation: Despite the heavier material, the cover went on more easily than expected. The fit over the hull shape was straightforward to line up and secure. Heavy-Duty Material: The dual-PVC coated fabric feels thick and durable, noticeably more substantial than lighter covers we’ve used in the past. Snug, Secure Fit: Once tightened down, the cover cinches up nicely and sits snug against the boat without excess flapping or looseness. Good Coverage: It provides full coverage over the boat and feels well suited for protecting it while not in use. Confidence in Longevity: Based on the material quality and construction, it feels like a cover that should hold up well over time when properly cared for. Things to Keep in Mind: Heavier Weight: The thicker material adds durability, but it also means folding and storing the cover takes a bit more effort. Care Matters: Like any heavy-duty cover, proper drying, ventilation, and storage will be important for long-term use. This is a thick, heavy, good quality boat cover. I'm replacing a an oxford fabric boat cover that got ripped in several spots when shingles blew off my roof. I'm not sure if this cover would entirely stand up to shingles raining down on it, but I think it would have a much better chance to than the oxford cover did! I'm giving this a good rating even though I haven't gotten it put on my boat yet. I attempted too, but it was just too windy of a day. Although, I got a lot closer with this heavy boat cover than I ever would have with my old lighter one. If the wind had been a bit lighter, it would have gone on just fine. This cover does seem to have a pretty unique system for keeping it tight to a boat. It came with a long coil of plastic-covered wire strand rope, and you're supposed to run the wire coil through the grommets in the boat cover, then pull it tight using a small winch that's included. I think it's a system that will work well once I learn to use the winch a bit better. I did have a question about it that I put to the manufacturer, and they were very responsive with a quick answer. I have a boat at the small end of the cover's range, so I had a lot of extra wire coil sticking out after I ran it around the boat cover. My question was if I should cut that extra off before winching it, as it did feel like it got in the way. The manufacturer says yes, that may help, but they recommend leaving 4-6 feet extra so you don't risk cutting it too short. The grommets also feel like they will hold very well and not tear out from the boat cover.

I got this for my 14ft V-bottom aluminum boat. It covers my boat just fine with a lot of slack. I went ahead and threaded the plastic coated cable through the eyelets, before putting it on my boat. Looking back it probably would've easier to wait until I had it one the boat. All that bending over got to me. Anyway, I threaded the cable so it would terminate towards the middle of one side. Since my boat is only 14ft I had a lot of excess cable to put on the "winch." I had to use a small angle grinder to cut some off, because it was too much to wind up on that little spool. But, I got it wound up and tightened down. The cover comes with a roll of nylon webbing to help strap the cover down to your trailer, but I left mine off thinking the cable will secure it enough. Time will tell if it'll withstand the winds. The fabric is waterproof and fairly heavy. You'll need to prop up the middle to keep rain water from pooling. I use a 10ft section of 1/2 inch PVC draped over the seat backs to create a "tent" appearance and it should keep any water from pooling.

This is a high quality boat cover, it’s thicker than tarps and comes with straps to ensure this stays in place. It’s made for a 14-16 ft boat as stated and we needed one for short term use for a 17 ft boat. The photo shows how it fit but we already knew it would be a bit short. Even though the boat isn’t entirely covered, we’ve already had 2 storms and this has actually done a great job of protecting it. One side of this is shiny (it looks like vinyl) and the other side has more of a matte finish and I’m sure the shiny side probably deflects heat or something but we have it shiny side down. This is an excellent boat cover!

Nice cover. This boat cover is very nice, covers exactly what it's supposed to. Made of quality material, should last for quite a while. Not too difficult to use, easier if you have two people but can be done by one. Would recommend.
