I used this clear RTV silicone caulk on our granite countertop in the bathroom. It was easy to apply and form, and ended up being a good sealant. However, it was really fumy for the first full day. I had to close the door and turn on the ceiling vent to help clear it out. I know others have said that it doesn't have any odor but I assume they were using it to adhere two pieces together where the fumes can't escape. It does clear up after a day and is fine after that, but just know that it may say low odor but it's really noticeable when used on surfaces. ... show more

This sealant is very easy to apply using the regular caulking gun in superior in quality as compared to the ones you’ll get in the big box stores once applied. It takes a couple of hours to fully dry, and feels perfectly around the joints. I did do a water test to check if the sealant is capable of resisting water, and it did quite well by managing to stop any water intrusion from the other side, it’s very well-suited to be used in multiple different situation as per the recommendations of the manufacturer which are stated on the product label ... show more

Great 100% Silicone Caulk – NOT Aquarium Safe -faster setup curing time – not the best type of spout I used to do a lot of kitchen and bathroom remodeling. I have used hundreds of tubes of silicone caulk. This is great 100% silicone caulk but it IS NOT Aquarium safe certified as having no anti-mold fungicides. The website claims that this caulk can be used in Marine Environments. And 100 % Silicone caulk is perfect for that Marine Environments use, but not for use in Aquariums. The caulk tube SPOUT IS NOT as easy to seal as some fancier spout caulk tubes. This caulk tube DOES NOT have the capped screw on spout. If you don’t use up all the silicone caulk in one application, you must seal the cut open tube. I have tried various spout sealing methods and some work better than others. This is the type of spout you only want to cut for a big job where you can use up the whole tube quickly and not try to save leftovers. I gave this otherwise 5 star rating caulk a lower 4 star rating because of the hard to seal spout. With the better screw on spout, you let the silicone caulk in the spout cure and seal up the rest of the silicone caulk tube. Then you unscrew the spout, push the cured plug out backwards and start using up the rest of the saved silicone caulk. Apparently this Silicone Caulk has a faster setup time which is nice. I learned a long time ago to move pretty fast applying Silicone Caulk to catch it before it skinned to be able to tool it to a nice water tight shape. I used to use my finger to shape the caulk profile. Now I use kitchen tool silicone spatula bowl scrapers to shape the caulk profile. The slower curing silicone caulks have stinky acetic acid, or vinegar, as part of the curing process. This faster curing silicone caulk is NOT stinky so it uses the moisture in the air to activate the catalyst that polymerizes the semi-soft gel into a semi-solid squashy paste. Got this silicone for metal roofs. Works but make sure you have your surface clean - did it once and it came right off during a hard rain. So I took a scarring pad scuffed it up and cleaned it with alcohol and reapplied - so far so good.

I have to say, it's really nice and thick and goes on smoothly. One of the things I appreciate about it is that it's completely odorless. The only downside I found was that they don't give you a proper way to close the top off when you're done using it. This is a good silicone to use. It does the job like many other products would: flows evenly, dries out fine and provides waterproofing. I totally agree with another customer that such tubes have to come with any kind of sealing caps to be put on after use. Otherwise, if you just use the small amount, the rest may dry out quickly and go into the garbage can. Another silicone tube that I previously purchased came with a detachable screw on nozzle and sealing cap. I seem to remember ordering clear caulk, which is what my order record shows, but I received white caulk. I actually preferred white, so this ended up being of benefit to me. The white and clear are different products on Amazon, so I'm not sure what happened, but in any case, the quality is standard for what you expect. Silicone sealant is great. I am not sure this is any different than other silicone sealants. The bottom line is they are all good if they are 100% silicone. Two points, you can't paint over them and they are hard to reseal tube. So it is good if you plan to use all in one day or rather quickly.
