I bought this for my wife after looking at many different rings. We were shopping for a diamond ring in jewelry stores and were shown a Moissanite ring and we loved it. This ring sparkles more than a diamond although it looks similar. So far no issues with it tarnishing but we do clean it with Dawn dish soap every few weeks. You want them to know you are serious but you are not ready yet for an engagement ring (have you seen the price of gold recently?). So you offer this. Tell them the stone is not a diamond but that is the size of one you want to one day give them. That is probably the best use for this ring. But also this is a pretty good decoy ring. Your out and you don't really want anyone hitting on yo so yo wear this on your ring finger. Will it stop everyone? Probably not but you can point to it and just tell them to go away. Also, if you happen to have a very expensive engagement ring and you are planning to engage in an activity that could result in a lost engagement ring, this is a pretty good decoy ring to wear for those occasions as well. But I am not sure that this is suitable for an actual engagement ring. It is really nice for what it is and maybe you and your significant other both are in sync and have other priorities and then this might be an appropriate engagement ring.
