Surprisingly good
I really liked this movie, it seemed like kind of a "sleeper" but it was well-written and kept our interest from beginning to end. It had some really good, touching moments.

Did you see the compass?
Much like a play as most of the film happens in one place. Not great, not horrible. My biggest issue with this film was the plot point in which the protagonists argue over which direction they are heading and how to go about it, then the camera pans out clearly showing the working compass attached to the boat right beside the steering wheel. ... show more

Really good movie
This movie has real meaning that matters. Great acting, Sean Astin is one of the best. It is also beautifully filmed.

Supreme disappointment!
What an utter waste of time! No character development, no plot, no action at all! I kept watching thinking something exciting would happen but it never did. Sean Astin should just live off his Rudy royalties & quit acting

I actually liked the story line
I actually liked the story line. It has a good message. I was excited that it was filmed on Lake Michigan. I generally love Sean Astin movies. What I did not expect was the bad language. I expected it to be more of a Christian film that I could watch with my family. The F word is thrown around several times, quite often, as well as a list of other bad words. This really surprised me. For that reason, It is not a film that I can watch with my children. Sorry, but I am disappointed in this one! ... show more

Good story. If you need flash-bang, look elsewhere
Its good, thought provoking, entertaining..... nothing bad to say at all. Not fast paced or flashy... so if you need all that, dont watch it.

Sean Astin has not lost his touch
This is a movie for people who still know how to think and who can still be moved by the intricacies of human existence. Excellent script, thoughtful cinematography and two phenomenal character actors. There is not one frame in this film where either of the main characters looked like they were acting. And the makeup was phenomenal. All movies should be this good. ... show more
