  • Great format, not so great durability
I am a second-year chemistry major using this notebook for my organic chemistry lab. If you are curious, this version is 75 pages and side-bound. The benefits of side-binding are that if you are a lefty you can rest your hand on the pages and it is a familiar format. I wanted the side-bound version but found I actually preferred my older top-bound version of this notebook due to the left-margin space you lose where the binding is. I like the 75-page format for my second-year organic chem lab. 50 pages would have been too few for a semester and 100 too much. I compared this notebook to the various notebooks of my peers and preferred this one because the grid-lining strikes a good transparency balance: the writing stands out easily, yet the lines are still suitably visible. The carbonless copy paper functions well, but for some strange reason this paper is harder to copy through as compared to my top-bound notebook from the same brand: press well! (As a benefit, if you accidentally forget to use the backing, you are likely to bleed through fewer pages accidentally.) The copy pages rip easily at the binding site and for your knowledge the originals are not removeable. My biggest issue with this notebook is durability. The lab is a rough environment and it seems that even in my backpack the cover is being torn in several places and the periodic table is becoming detached. I noticed this on my old notebook and other students who had the same brand. Overall, I would recommend this notebook over others that I have seen with the reservation that it must be treated gently and will still probably sustain wear. ... show more

  • It Serves its purpose
Overall this is a notebook that is specifically designed for a laboratory work (as stated in its name). The pages and its copies are numbered. Graphing sheet paper is used. The margins are decent as well as the header. The spine of both of mine started coming apart after 2 semesters of use, but it did sustain some hard handling. The one thing that is lacking is the ability to tear out originals and copies well. The carbon copy is hard to tear out evenly, while the original is not possible without scissors. I know that originals are supposed to be kept in place, but each professor has his/her own demands. ... show more

  • A costly necessity!
Have already gone through several of these. Very pricey but handy!

  • Great for what it is
Simple lab notebook. Apparently similar notebooks have a color-coded periodic table on the back, this one does not (black and white). Otherwise, perfect condition, new, exactly what is needed for my intro chemistry class.

  • These are great, the original pages are not perforated though
I use these for organic chemistry and quantitative lab. These are great, the original pages are not perforated though. Only the carbon copies are.

  • There are better out there.
There are better carbon copy lab book out there, this one is all the same color (for copy and original). I would advise looking around before purchasing this one

  • Great product, however
Great product, however, if you press too hard when writing it will go through the barrier and onto the carbonless copies below.
