I purchased the exact same book bag back in 2011 for college. I needed a good waterproof book bag (walking to class in all weather). I went all 4 years of college with it, my husband used it in grad school for 2 years, I carried it to and from work for 4 years, plus it served as my camping/hiking/kayaking bag. Needless to say, I more than got my money's worth on my first North Face Jester book bag and it held up! It was finally time to retire the old one and purchase this one as a replacement. Just another case of why buying a high quality product (and a bit more expensive) pays off in the long run! Loving this new book bag and hoping it holds up as long as the last one!

I wore it almost every day in Mexico, I've had it while hiking, I've brought it through airport security holding all my stuff because let me tell you- this backpack can hold a LOT! It's incredibly comfortable. There are pockets for nearly everything. I have a laptop- there's a padded sleeve for that! There's a sleeve for your phone, your camera, chapstick, etc. North Face has thought of everything! To top it off the straps are incredibly comfortable and very adjustable, too. I'm 5'2" and it works great! Most sit too low on me. This one was perfect!

Good size, a lot of space, enough space for a 13" mac book and several notebooks, space gets a little tight when you have a lot of things in the front pocket as they squish contents in the large pocket, a bit uncomfortable in the straps, they are way too stiff initially and take a week or two of use to break in, but after that happens and you adjust the straps well it's perfectly comfortable, many useful pockets in the front, simple professional and casual look, very durable, I can tell this bag will last me for a long time, perfect for a high schooler! definitely worth the price.

I got this for my daughter (15 yr old sophmore), and she loves it! It's a great backpack, very durable and very roomy. Update: My daughter is now almost 19, and going to Indiana University and still carrying this pack, and it still looks like new.

after going through backpacks that rip almost weeks after I buy them I’m actually really surprised on the durability on this one. I can carry multiple textbooks in here and still hang it up without the handle tearing off. This backpack is worth your money as it will probably last you your whole life. The whistle is also handy given that I walk home it just makes me feel safer.
