The Nightmare Before Christmas Zoetrope Picture Disc arrived in perfect condition. The sound quality is clear, and the pressing feels solid and well-made. The real standout is the artwork, the design is absolutely beautiful, with vivid detail that makes it as much a display piece as a record. The media could not be loaded. My girlfriend nearly cried when I gave this to her as a Halloween present. The vinyls are gorgeous, sound great, and the zoetropes are wonderful. You'll see a lot of nonsense about special lighting, certain cameras, apps, etc for revealing zoetrope animation; but let me tell you how I easily took a bunch of b-roll with only my phone (and a tripod, optional). Instructions for Android phones: go to your camera app, enter manual/professional/whatever your phone calls it video mode, dial your "speed" up or down until you see the animation become more and more clear. Once the animation is showing smoothly, the image will probably be very blown out (highlights) or very dark, so proceed to dial your ISO up or down and play with your exposure setting until it's balanced out. If you're using a tripod or some other handsfree stabilizing implement, manually lock your point of focus somewhere toward the center or outer-3rd of the frame and take a couple short test clips to make sure that's where you want it. Fiddle with angles and the aforementioned settings to your desired result. If you're not using a tripod or otherwise, set your focus to auto tracking and tap where you want it, but try to avoid moving toward and away from the platter (smoothly side to side should generally be fine). Some or all of these instructions may work with iPhones, but I cannot personally confirm that. Flash is optional, depending on your situation. Hope that helps! At first, I was surprised with how thick and heavy each record is. Each side is a different vinyl pressing design, which led me to fear the needle would skip. But, I was wrong. Even my clutzy bumps onto the table my Fluance turntable is on didn’t skip the needle once. Then each song on both sides sounded amazing! I heard no flaws at all even though I expected it to skip or have sound defects since the pressings made the vinyl look glossy. After I sent samples to my friends, they also wanted the album. Hopefully they will buy it because it’s worth buying! The album & sleeves are both thick material to further ensure the vinyl discs will be preserved for a very long time. I highly recommend this album to those who both enjoy this movie and love how vinyl records sound!

Cool design, great soundtrack

Just another 90s kid here reviewing the OST to one of the best movies during the Disney Renaissance. Despite me being a kid at the time, I knew this film was going to leave a permanent mark on me for years to come. Yes, its not your average Disney princess fairytale with magic and fairy godmothers, but I feel that this movie was a haven for those of us who didn't belong to the "handsome prince" bunch. I like a story about people who are broken, empty, and aren't considered "normal" to the rest of the world, but yet they're able to find happiness by finding someone that can just understand and fill the empty voids in each other. (FYI: I'm not one of those emo/gothic kids that live at Hot Topic and are all "ooh this movie's dark" and "love is darkness so let's engrave it in our skins".) >_> So now, this is the NBC special edition soundtrack that comes with two discs. Disc one contains a total of twenty tracks that contain the entire score of the movie back to back in the exact same order in which they appeared. The sound is amazing and I just can't help singing along as they play. It brings the kid out in me again and I believe if anything does that to you, it's definitely special. Disc two, on the other hand, in my opinion is a useless addition to this and the reason why I didn't give it five stars. Tracks 1-5 contain songs from the movie covered by various artists (1. This is Halloween by Marilyn Manson 2. Sally's Song by Fiona Apple 3. What's This? by Fall Out Boy 4. Kidnap the Sandy Claws by She Wants the Revenge 5. This is Halloween by Panic! At the Disco). All these in my opinion were terribly done (especially Kidnap the Sandy Claws X_x) and none of them coveyed the emotion like the ones the movie did. Maybe if they chose different artists?..Idk. The demos were great though, and it was cool hearing Danny Elfman preform since it gives us inside access on how he worked on them. Overall, it's an awesome CD and a must have for all you NBC fans, but I wouldn't pay $30.00 dollars for it either, especially if the bonus disc isn't even worth $5.00. Anyway I hope you enjoy it like I will for years to come. xxPumpkin_Kingxx

I had no idea how this works, but my daughter figured it out in a few minutes, all she had to do was put her camera in slow motion mode and it worked great, that simple. It's really cool
