  • Fun & entertaining series best viewed with 4k tv & upscaling blu ray player
Think Dvds watching on a 4k tv & upscaling blu ray player makes a considerable difference. Have always preferred Vizio tvs & over the past 10 years have had good luck with Vizio products being reliable. Uploaded photos to try to show picture quality(hope that helps). I used a combo of following to get regular dvds to be great picture quality watching: VIZIO M-Series Quantum Class 4K HDR Smart TV Sony BDP-S6700 4K Upscaling 3D Streaming Home Theater Blu-Ray Disc Player The 2 above items improve the picture quality considerably. I’ll be revisiting series I haven’t watched in a while only available on dvd I have due to picture quality with new 4k. Let’s face it: some DVDs will I never be offered in blu ray quality. So, letting the equipment upgrade for us can make do. Now to the product review: Bought this complete series about 1 1/2 year ago(no movies included then) for only $15(have seen the series but none of movies) & didn’t realize a complete series with movies included offered later. So, rewatching considering the picture upgrade now. A very fun & entertaining series to watch & enjoy. Overall I’d rate the series a 4 or 5 stars. Consider it a fun for family viewing. The packaging only gets a 3 stars or less due to dvd holders being cardboard. You may want to buy a better holder to protect the dvds over time instead of using cardboard holders provided. Catch the above equipment on sale & upgrade your tv as believe is worth the investment due to price drops of 4k. ... show more

  • An uneven series
I would have preferred a 3.5 rating. It deserves better than 3, but I don't think it deserves a 4-star rating. This is all four seasons of "The Librarians", which is a TV series that grow of of the three "Librarian" TV movies starring Noah Wylie. He is in the TV series from time to time, but is frequently "away". It's a more-or-less lighthearted adventure series - the premise is that there is magic in the world, and to protect humanity, various magical artifacts are collected by the Librarians and stored in "the" Library, but they also spend time fighting evil. Each season had a season-long villain who they generally defeat at the end of the season. This was an interesting concept in season 1; when it became evident that season 2 was using the same idea, it lost some of the appeal, and it continued into seasons 3 and 4. Of all the seasons, season 2 had the absolutely best ending, and season 3 had the worst. I found season 4 more depressing than lighthearted - the ending of this season helped it rise above an entirely depressing season. It has been touted as "family-friendly entertainment", but I don't agree with that assessment; perhaps "generally family-friendly" would be closer to the mark. Some people may object to magic; others may find the element of lesbianism (which becomes more overt during the series) to be objectionable. ... show more

  • It's goofy and makes us laugh with our kids.
My wife and I started watching this with commercials and our kids loved it. Then the free channel we were watching on no longer had it available, so we bought the DVD set. I'm not sure if my 2-year-old daughter knows why we laugh at it, but she laughs too and is always pulling out the DVD box. As for the DVD set. Box is just a cardboard or hard stock paper, with similar hard stock sleeves to hold the DVD's. Not glamorous, not sturdy plastic, but it does the job, and what can you expect for such a low price? The DVDs. Each disk looks professionally made and is not some cheap bootlegged knockoff. Each disk looks exactly the same but one. Other than the one exception, they all have the same image, font, etc. However, each disk clearly states if it is one of the movies, and if it is the TV series the season and disk number is clearly printed. ... show more
