Beautiful collectors edition!

This is such a cool collectors book! I was considering getting the normal copy of this book and then I saw this collectors edition and couldn’t resist. The book itself is bound in a lovely blue cloth and is a larger format which is wonderful for looking at the artwork. The map that comes with it is actually fabric and is backed with paper. The spirit orb looks just like in the game, and the photo of the champions makes me emotional every time I see it. I still can’t get over how nicely done the photo of the champions is. It is in a high quality cover and is printed on photo paper and tucked within. Overall, beautiful collectors piece that I have zero regrets buying.

Absolutely gorgeous! Might be my favorite thing in my Breath of the Wild collection

I was lucky to pre-order this before to price shot up so Prime's pre-order guarantee really helped me out, but I think the quality and the content are worth the original price. Everything is so well made, and there are so many small touches that make this feel like it was made with love. Everything looks and feels so nice. The map is a LOT bigger than I expected it to be, so unfortunately I won't be able to hang it up anytime soon. Even the envelope holding the map feels high quality. The Champion's Ballad photo is printed on actual photo paper, and is in a nice fold out book (I'm blanking on the exact word, but think what you might get your high school degree in--it's that) with a message from Kass. The spirit orb replica sits behind a magnetic flap, revealing the container for the spirit orb and the familiar message "May the Goddess smile upon you". (THIS IS SAME AS THE STANDARD EDITION!) Opening the book, you are greeted with an "Open your eyes..." before the contents are divided up. The divider pages are even designed after the loading screen you see in the game, adding a Divine Beast as you progress through the book. Details like these aren't required of an art book, but make the product so much better. It was well worth waiting for, and I'm eager to put everything on full display. If you are a fan of Breath of the Wild, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the art book, Standard Edition OR Hero's Edition. But if you can afford to, I would go for the Hero's Edition. The items bundled with this edition are of great quality and are unique replicas of items found in the game. Not that this entirely matters, but skimming through other reviews it does seem that the packaging for the Hero's edition is more protective. Like others who reviewed this product, I opened my amazon package to find that there wasn't a single corner dented in the delivery process. Unfortunately it seems to be more common with people who ordered the Standard Edition. It isn't anything that will highly impact your choice, and it won't destroy or devalue the product, but I felt it was an interesting note.

The most beautiful LoZ memorabilia I own
Format: Hardcover
I originally pre-ordered the standard book, before I even knew this Edition existed. Once I discovered it, I quickly changed my pre-order and began the wait. Today, it arrived and my first reaction was shock at how heavy the package was. Opening everything very carefully, I quickly realized how fortunate I was to have discovered this edition. Pros: Fabric-covered, hardcover book: I have yet to do more than a cursory glance at the pages, beyond the initial opening, but from what I saw, this is the most in-depth and beautiful book ever made about a Zelda game. Hyrule History, Art & Artifacts, and The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia are all excellent, but each of them feels like they were building to this book. Beautiful and very weighty. There is no skimping on quality here. Large, fabric map: This is, by far, the best feeling map I've ever touched. That may sound silly, but if you happen to get your hands on it, you'll know what I mean. Not only is the map artwork itself stunning, but it is huge! Champion's photo: This photo comes in a small booklet, along with a quote from Kass. It brought warm memories of the game and while I was holding it, I felt like a token of love and effort of the designers had been presented to me. Spirit Orb: I don't consider this to be a huge selling point to me, but it is a nice-sized representation of the Spirit Orb and a nice bonus. Cons: Book: The fabric cover is a nice blue right now, but if left exposed, it may collect dust, fingerprints, or smudges. I don't mind this too much, as the whole point of a book cover is to protect the book, but I don't like the idea of it getting too dirty. Maybe I'll invest in a slip-cover or case for it. Map: It is almost too large and I have no place to display it right now. In addition, it is not a standard size, so custom framing is likely the best route, as I can't stand the thought of drymounting or using putty to hold it against the wall. Plus, it is heavy enough, those options may not work. Oh well, time to save up for a beautiful frame! Photo: The photo itself is an odd dimension, and while the cover it comes in fits it well, it seems a bit wide. I will probably have to custom frame it as well, or I could just leave it out, but cracked open. Spirit Orb: Unfortunately, it is completely spherical and I have nothing to set it on at the moment to keep it from rolling around, so I'm not sure I can use it as a paperweight. Overall: There is a reason I put everything back into the decorative box all the pieces came in, and that is I don't want to risk damage or dirtiness while I figure out how to properly and safely display everything. Perhaps for now, I will put the whole assembly on a shelf and figure it out later, but each of these pieces is something I want to be able to enjoy for years. So a couple weeks/months in the box will have to make due until I get around to a more permanent display solution. Again, this is a beautiful book and everything that came with it is well work the extra cost for this edition. I almost feel like I should have paid more, but then I remember I still need to get the DLC and finish BoTW. All-in-all, get this while you can, as scalpers have likely already started buying up as many copies of this as posible. I wouldn't be surprised to see the spirit orb going for more than $20 by itself, and the entire set for more than $200. If you're at all a fan of the series or BoTW, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed!

A Must Have For Zelda Fans!!

First, I would like to state that the package got a little damaged. Even in the box that it got delivered in was damaged on one side of the box. The outer case itself has a few dents on it. (See photos.) It's unfortunate that the outer case got a little damaged but thankfully its nothing too major. As for the book and other contents, they are perfectly fine. The book is much bigger then I expected! 😲 The making of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game shows a lot of great detail of what goes into creating the designs of the characters, backgrounds, locations, weapons, and much more! It not only comes with the book, but it also comes with a big beautifully detailed poster that is based on the map of Hyrule from the game itself! The map is made of some sort of fabric-like finish on the front, but on the back, it's poster paper. So, I guess, they must have used something that has a fabric-like texture feel to it? It's kinda hard to explain unless you touch the poster in person. It also comes with the spirit orb that is safely secured into a small box with foam in it and it's located on the side of the outer bookcase. There are magnets inside the flap doors to keep the little box safe and from being easily opened. The orb itself is really small, but it still looks pretty neat! Then there's a photo of Zelda, Link, and all the Champions that's based from the 2nd DLC of the Champion's Ballad from the game - which is really cool! (Once again check photos.) I would highly recommend on getting this for those who are Zelda fans and who like to get cool collector stuff like this! 😀

BotW collector's kit is awesome

This is a wonderful Breath of the Wild collector's kit! There is a large book full of game designer facts, character bios, land information, game history, and more! As a side note, the book does not contain gameplay tips (not that I care, exploring the game without help is too fun) for those curious. A sleeve holds the map of Hyrule which is A LOT bigger than expected. Not a problem, but the display picture is very accurate on how everything can lay on it. It also doesn't seem like cloth to me. Kind of like those paper bags from grocery stores with a felt layer for the map. The map is also a bit fuzzy on details, like it is a well used and worn map for a traveler. Still love it. A hard cover folder holds the photo of the champions with a quote from Kass on the inside. Very well done. And last, but certainly not least, the orb. Not as big as I was expecting, only a tad bigger than a master marble. But the color is vibrant and the design inside clear when put up to the light. I noticed some sticky residue on mine, needed some cleaning. So cute! Wish I knew how to display it. Overall, very pleased with this product. Glad I didn't have to pay the price listed on the sticker, it isn't worth that much in my opinion. Definitely suggest this to other Breath of the Wild fans who just can't get enough of this game.

A Gift Of Pure Awesome!

Opening this up was really exciting! It felt like a gift, personalized to me. I waited for the wife to get up so she could see, it was worth it. She's not even that big into the series and she was stunned by how much was included with the Hero's Edition. The book it'self isn't gigantic but the absolutely glorious packaging is, and it displays very well on my Zelda shelf (work in progress) Book is loaded with information, all the art is gorgeous, the map is great, everything, it's a must own for a BotW fan, or any Zelda fan hands down! I'm one of those people who's bummed out about manuals not coming with games anymore, these books more than make up for it! I suspect i'm now a life time collector. The material used to house everything has a silky smooth feel to it and overall the entire presentation from cover to card is just... iv'e personally never seen anything like it. I can see why these ran for around $100 MSRP when they came out. I'm shocked they aren't actually more now. I'm late to this party. Join me shall you?

If you’ve been contemplating buying this for awhile… JUST DO IT!

This was such a good but! For months I have added and removed this from my cart and even went through with ordering one time lol but could not get over the price and cancelled the order. Well, when I was able to get the joycons before the scalpers did, I decided “heck, why not” and so glad I did! It’s way bigger than I thought it was going to be. I though it was maybe half this size but turned out to be the perfect size 🤩 I was hesitant to pay $75 for something I thought was small. Also, it came in the Amazon box and inside the Amazon box it was still packed in the manufacturers box unopened and in perfect condition. I didn’t even want to open the manufacturers box right away because it was so perfect I wanted to savor it lol it’s not often packages are received in condition THIS perfect. Like fresh off the assembly line perfect lol 😂 so after about 5 minutes, I took it out of the manufacturers brown box, and was greeted with the most beautiful blue case I’ve ever seen which had this collection wrapped in plastic and fitting into its compartment 😭😭😭😭 for someone with OCD this is literally a dream come true lol I haven’t even unwrapped the plastic yet lol But I can say already if you’re like me, a spastic buyer who hesitates on some things, please just go ahead and spastically by this. You won’t regret it. Finally: it’s HEAVY which I love. The quality is unmatched and perhaps the best Zelda collectors item I have! (Well, aside from the gold cover Zelda encyclopedia lol)

Stunning 💙

I received my package today and it came in perfect condition. My first thought was “wow this thing is heavy”. It comes packaged in a form fitting box and the Hero’s edition is plastic wrapped. Where do I begin. First of all I really like the minimal blue design on this collection. It’s simple, but so nice to look at. The first thing I took out was the glass orb. This thing is really neat. It looks exactly like what you’d hope for when bringing something from the game to real life. If you were to display this orb, it might be a little tricky because it is spherical. I choose to keep mine in the given compartment. The next thing I took out was the envelope with the group photo that is given to you by Kass. So sweet. It’s in a thick high quality cardboard envelope with a smooth texture on the outside. The photo itself is printed on what seems to be photo paper and it is removable. And of course on the left side of the album is printed the message from Kass. Next is the map. I have not unfolded the map yet, but other people in these reviews has stated that it is very large, and I definitely tell that it is quite big. Unfolded it’s a decent size already. The map is printed on a dense cloth material. It feels like suede, even though I know it isn’t. It’s very soft but it doesn’t feel delicate like it could rip easily. The opposite side of the map is a thick poster paper. Which is nice, because if you were to hang your map on the wall I don’t see the thumb tacks being able to damage the corners unlike a lot of posters. Next is the book. Holy crap. This book is amazing. In my option the book itself is worth 70$ at least. The book’s cover is a canvas cloth like material. It’s blue with link on the cover aiming a guardian arrow. This book is chock full of beautiful art. Every page has concept art, rough drafts, etc. it is so neat and interesting to look at. All in all this is a wonderful collection. If you loved BOTW I highly suggest getting this.
