Olsen's bible for kiln builders now includes chapters on multidirectional and specialty kilns, fired in place kilns for large scale ceramic sculptures, and offers a few suggestions on what kilns may look like in the future. The Kiln Book covers the principles of efficient design, building methods, refractory materials, bricklaying procedures and instructions, fuels and firing systems, arches, flues, electric elements, and general safety. • excellent book, but poor edition

I had in my hands several copies of the previous editions, including the 4th, and so I am really very unpleasantly surprised by the mediocrity of this new 4th edition type photocopy print/ draft quality... I am all the more disappointed that the price of this new book ($ 96) does not augur for such a low quality of publication! book quality ***** quality edition ** ... show more
