  • Real, raw and true: such a good book
I’ve read this book two times now and would recommend this book to anyone wanting to be reassured in their own grief journey or loss, that you are not alone. No magic wand can be waved of course, but through her vulnerable story telling, Kelsy paints an incredible picture of hope and resilience of our human spirits with the help of God, loved ones and continuing to look toward helping others. This is an incredible story, tool, guide, etc that will bring others great encouragement. ... show more

  • An incredible story of love, loss, grief & the undeniable strength of the human spirit!
After receiving the book a couple of days ago I struggled to pick the book up as I knew how heartbreaking and heavy the read would be. I graduated high school with Heath and while our paths have not crossed since then, reading a story about someone's life, untimely passing and how his family has endured the loss of him, I knew it was going to be a hard read. I cried most of the book as it is so raw, vulnerable and one can only imagine having to walk in her shoes. Kelsy does an incredible job sharing this journey, her love story and how her family survives this unimaginable loss. Hats off to Kelsy for having the courage to put her story to pencil and paper. The book will leave you reflecting on your life, your relationships and how you treat others. It provides lots of encouraging words that apply to many of life's horrible dealings. Fantastic read, highly, HIGHLY, recommend! PS: The one line that will stick with me forever from the book: "It's okay to have a bad day or an off day. Just don't unpack your baggage and stay there. Life's too short for that!". Spot on Kelsy! ... show more

  • Honest and Reflective
I found this read to be quite engaging- I was unable to put the book down once I picked it up, having finished it in just a couple sit downs. I appreciated Kelsy’s heartfelt approach and her braveness, in sharing all she did, did not go unnoticed. I’ve been a part of the family for a while now, having married into it, and it was such a delight to learn more about the sweet and funny dynamic the author and her late-husband shared. I’d always considered Kelsy and Heath to be ‘couple goals’ and her book has only reaffirmed that notion. Her emphasis on the importance of loving deeply, living for the moment, and absorbing all life brings to the table is a kind reminder for a mindset shift so many of us are in need of. ... show more

  • Very heartfelt
I read this within 2 days! Kelsy’s heartfelt tribute to the love of her life and sharing in great detail her grief with others is powerful. I hope that this telling of her story brings relief to others going through similar times in their lives. At times I cried and at times I laughed out loud. She is very candid in her story telling and I think anyone, even if not going through grief yourself will benefit from reading her book and at least taking away the reminder to “love your people” ... show more

  • Review By My Wife Kim
Just finished reading Kelsy’s book. I highly recommend it. It so real for me because I know Kelsy through her extended family, specifically, Heath’s Aunt Vivi. This book brought smiles, appreciation of family and our community, laughter and so many tears. Oh, and love your people! The sweetest and smallest things always stick out to me when I read or listen to widows speak about their grief journey. Good days are great. Bad days are ok too! Don’t sweat the small stuff. Socks on the floor, empty toilet paper roll, toothpaste and whiskers in the sink. Small stuff. And, of course, always always, ALWAYS, laugh at the “helicopter”when he steps out of the shower! 😂 And, to the McHenrys and Menegas families, I send my love to your big fat Greek family, ALWAYS! ❤️ -kim ... show more

  • I could not put it down
I literally read this book from cover to cover in one sitting-meaning, I did not get up once! It’s personal, it’s honest, it’s inspirational, it’s gut-wrenching, and it’s filled with courage and hope. Kelsys shattered world was the very thing that introduced her to the world that is just on the other side… Faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is Love- on both sides of the thin veil that separates us from Heaven. This book is a must read. ... show more

  • A Phenomenal Journey of Healing and Strength
I don’t normally do reviews, but you know a book is truly captivating when you can't put it down and finish all 267 pages in just three and a half hours! 🧡 (so of course, I had to share now!) Wow! The Husband On Loan from Heaven is phenomenal! Kelsy McHenry's healing journey is beautifully told—a story of strength, unwavering love, and deep inspiration. As someone who follows her on Instagram (@bloomwithkelsy) and listens to her PodCast "Mama's Gotta Bloom" I admire the raw and real glimpses into her life. Her authenticity and vulnerability resonate with so many of us. This book captures that same spirit, making it relatable and empowering for women, really anyone everywhere! I can’t recommend it enough! I hope sharing this review inspires others to dive into this incredible story. #MustRead #SignsFromAbove #LovedOnesStillWithUs ... show more
