    • Easy To Follow Recipes--My Cats Love Them!
I've been making homemade raw cat food for 13+ years which involved grinding meat, livers, gizzards, adding a bunch of individual supplements, and it needs plenty of freezer space. It took 3 hours to make a one month supply for my cats. In light of the current situation regarding raw poultry, I decided to switch to a cooked diet. This book makes the entire process so much faster & easier. The recipes are simple to follow and put together and don't use any exotic ingredients that are hard to find. The best part is my cats love them! If your cats prefer shredded or chunky textures, you can leave it the way it is when the cooking is finished. Otherwise, if they prefer a smoother pate' texture, use a stick blender or food processor to blend it out. After the food is refrigerated, it will firm up very similar to canned cat food. I appreciate that the author of this book is a veterinarian who went the extra mile to create healthier options for our pets. I also follow her YT videos where she demonstrates many of her recipes. I decided to do research on making my cat's food myself with ingredients that are better for them and not have to worry about any fillers that commercial wet cat foods contain. I came across this vet's youtube videos and went to her website and downloaded the mini cookbook and tried a few recipes out and my cat loves them. So, I no longer buy canned wet cat food from the stores anymore (I tested it out and my cat won't touch the canned cat foods from the store). I make 6 batches of cat food (1 recipe.. 1 lb of meat.. = 1 batch) at a time and store it in the freezer and keep only 3 days out at a time in the fridge. The 6 batches gives me 30 days of cat food. When I found my cat liked it I ordered the full cookbook here. It has lots of helpful tips and recipes and information about a cats health and needs. I included pictures of a batch of cat food mixture and then daily servings (5 oz per day for my cat divided by 1/2 for morning feeding and 1/2 for evening feeding) in reusable, freezer safe deli 8 oz containers (as we know when you freeze something it can expand).
