  • Chock full of great info and recipes
Weather you are new to juicing or have been at it for a while, this book is not only informational but is inspiring as well. Full of personal stories, tips, guides and recipes. The book is written well, clear and concise...no fluff, just stuff you can use. I bought this book when I bought my Breville juicer and was glad I did. We started juicing at the coffee shop where I work and this book helped me, help my customers. I was able to give them good nutricitional guidelines and healthy facts about the fruits and vegetables they were about to consume. Along with tips on how to juice at home. One other book I would reccommend is The juice Lady's Turbo Diet by Cheie Colbom. As a footnote: I started juicing about 6 weeks ago...I have lost enough weight for people to notice. My clothes are looser and I feel better because juicing is a healthy lifestyle. Watch Joe Cross "Fat, sick and nearly dead" video on netflix or Utube...it will inspire you to take your health into your own hands. I did a three day reboot...comsume nothing but juice and then have had a juice every morning for breakfast since. This is something Farnoosh Brock reccomends in her book...juice at least once a day (on an empty stomach) preferably for breakfast. You'll be glad you got this book, it's very thourough and is a really a good read! I read it from cover to cover in a matter of a few days. I gave it five stars because it's great! Loved it, and will continue to reap the benefits from it for a long time to come. ... show more

  • Don't Juice Without It !
This book should come with a Warning Label -- don't juice without it! I began my juicing journey about 7 months ago by reading online information, watching infomercials, and listening to friends; all of which left me very confused and somewhat misinformed. This book cleared all the fog! I'm so happy that I clicked the BUY button and ordered this as my first juicing book, otherwise I might have given up early in my journey. The photographs in this book are picture perfect. My weekly goal is for my kitchen island counter top to look similar to these photos...inspiration waiting for me to arrive home from my day. She puts it all out on a silver platter for you; a quick and easy read, with no fuss, so that you can get on with your juicing. And I LOVE that the book is accompanied with a touch of her personal journey. Who doesn't love an inspiring story? There are plenty of recipes in book; I have not needed any other source but she does include a section on how to create your own delicious juices. I have several friends who have started juicing recently and I have given several people juicers as gifts. I always treat those people with a copy of this book. I could say a lot more but the bottom line ... juice at your own risk without this book. Especially a necessity for any newbie to juicing. ... show more

  • Very Informative Starter Book
This was a very good, informative, beginners guide for juicing. Let me start by saying that I did NOT purchase this book with the intent on going on a juice diet. I just wanted a book to explain the pros and cons of different types of juicers, as well as the benefits of juicing certain fruits, and vegetables. This was all new to me, and I needed a book to reference. That being said, I actually read this book from start to end. The authors writing style kept me interested, and I found her recipes to be quite easy to make. None of the ingredients were difficult to find. Most of the juices tasted great too. I strongly recommend this book as a starter book for juicing. It has helped me tremendously, as I am no longer afraid of my juicer, lol ... show more

  • Informative, inspiring, and beautifully presented
In a word: Outstanding! It's easy to get lost in the proliferation of juicing titles available today, but this one stands apart in its content, its presentation, and just plain lovely execution. Farnoosh's writing style is as full of life as juicing itself, and it's compellingly endearing, as if she were right there next to you, talking about one of her true passions: healthy juicing. If you've never read any of her titles, or better yet, listened to any of her many podcasts to hear the genuine honesty and excitement in her voice - you're in for a treat. Not only is this lovely little book informative and inspiring, it's also beautifully published. The presentation of the book itself is truly stunning. The layout, the colors, the print, the paperstock, and the photos - including the dustjacket AND matching cover - ARE "mouth-wateringly" beautiful! I even love the size/dimensions of the book itself - slightly smaller than a typical hardcover, and that almost gives it the feel of a "pocket book" - easy to carry, hold, and read. The philosphy, benefits, and even the mechanics of juicing covered in the text are balanced perfectly with the awesome recipes themselves, and even includes a "what next" section and words to motivate and keep the momentum going. All in all, very well done. ....The Healthy Juicer's Bible? Amen! ~Bruce ... show more

  • The book I wish was available when I started juicing (and lost 80 pounds.)
As someone who lost 80 pounds through juicing, runs a popular blog and podcasts at JuicingRadio I have read my fair share of juicing books. The Healthy Juicers Bible by Farnoosh Brock gets a 5 star rating from me for the following reasons. 1) Great Presentation 2) Attractive Photos 3) A good selection of recipes - though do not buy this if you want 1000s of juice recipes - there are plenty of cheap kindle books for that. 4) Juicing Success Stories 5) Preparation tips 6) Good explanations on the types of juicers out there. I know this can be a minefield for the uninitiated. 7) Written in plain English 8) Not hippy dippy/alternative - the writer does not promise that juicing beet greens will cure cancer for instance. 9) Great tips on how to detox. 10) Most importantly for us there are strategies on how to succeed. Some great motivational tips and the author does accurately point out that juicing is a lifestyle not a fad. Ms Brock has not written this book to push her own supplements or products, the book contains good honest juicing information that I wish I had when I started juicing. ... show more
