Sturdy, and long enough to accent thick, curly hair (any curl pattern) in an updo. I say 'accent' rather than 'secure' because I still need a few hidden hair pins to hold my uber-thick hair when I use it. Love it no less though. Wish it came in more colors.

I have extremely thick hair and while I love the look of this pin, my hair is so thick that it bends the prongs shut and I have a lot of trouble bending them back to normal to re-style my hair. I would recommend in this product to someone who has normal-thickness hair, but if you have thicker hair maybe opt for something a little more sturdy. ... show more

Overall this is a great French Pin. It was my go-to for quite a while. It's a decent price compared to more decorative ones (or D. Pagani, YIKES). I eventually found a much cheaper, smaller sized brand (6 pins for $6.99) that I bought for backups (car, bag, etc) and ended up falling in love with the smaller size.
