  • Creative and Fun
It is such a creative and fun game, you have to create a story for the words you created. We had so much laugh together, not only FUN, but EDUCATIONAL. KUDOS to the creators!

  • Great concept and quality but more of a niche game.
I love the concept of this game and the build quality is awesome but there are certain elements that restricts this one to only a certain group of friends and family for me. The construction/manufacturing of the game itself is fantastic. I love the rubber letter tiles that make up the game. They're small and easy to handle and have a great feel to them. I feel like they would hold up to lots of use. The topic and voting cards are all high quality as well. The idea of the game is simple. Think scrabble but with made up words and you have to pitch your made up definition to your friends so they'll approve you using it. I love the fresh and original concept as well as the creativity of the game, unfortunately some of what makes it fun for one group of my game friends is also what makes it a show-stopper for others. Much like cards against humanity, there's a peer-approval aspect of the game that means some awesome answers could get overlooked if your delivery/explanation doesn't impress the other people playing. That ambiguity might be problematic for people who aren't creative enough to come up with a good explanation, or they're shy and don't want to do a sales pitch (especially in front of people they don't know). It's a great idea and definitely worth playing, but I would only recommend it if you have a group that is okay with ambiguity and is both creative and outspoken. Overall it's a fun game and I would recommend. ... show more

  • Equal opportunity game!
The best thing about this game is that anyone who can read and write could win it. You don't need trivia knowledge, fast reflexes, a great memory, or a complicated strategy. You don't even need to have good spelling or grammar or know all the weird words that use Xs and Zs in Scrabble. You just need to be willing to make something up and talk others into it-- even a kid can figure out how to do that. It's not easy to find a game that gives any member of an extended family a fighting chance at scoring points. Of course the goal is to have fun, but it's not much fun to play if people don't feel like they have a chance! This creative bluffing party game gives everybody a chance. From a more rigorous game design perspective: the points/scoring isn't super thrilling and there is an element of "rejecting others' ideas" within the gameplay which might not go over too great depending on the group of people. This game is probably best played among extroverts who will laugh off being wrong. But it's also easy to ditch the points and just play the core mechanic of the game, making up words with the tiles and cards, so that everyone has a nice time. The game even suggests "making up your own rules" so we felt like using the basic idea and the supplies to do our own thing was well within the creative spirit of Blabbi. :) Glad to say that overall the materials and manufacturing quality were quite good, which isn't always the case with new/indie board games! The packaging is well-designed and slick enough to be a gift for friends or family members who like party games and creative shenanigans. The soft letter tiles feel comfortable and durable and non-slip, which is a practical and appealing design feature. ... show more

  • Good stuff
My wife and I like playing word games, but making it a party game was different for us. It turned out to be a lot of fun and led to many laughs. Easy to learn which was nice.

  • Anything goes...leading to loads of laughter
This is a fun group game that levels the playing field for the players that aren't scrabble or crossword fanatics. Imagination and snarkiness are key qualities for making up words that you'd love to be able to put into use outside of the game as well. If you're OCD about rules and proper scoring, STAY AWAY from this game, it will drive you up the wall. Great for a free for all good time making up your own new and often nonsensical language. We found that people who weren't interested in the game at first couldn't help themselves and had to join in when they saw what fun the rest of the group was having. Best new game I've run into in awhile. ... show more

  • Fun silly group game, unique idea, not ideal if you really care about points or strategy
We tend to like word games and this sounded like a fun idea. Overall it's clever and unique, but didn't click super well with us. Playing by the rules, other players have the chance to just say "no" to your proposal, which is kind of mean spirited (unless you enjoy getting into these kinds of debates), so we never really argued against anyone's word. This just meant that the points were kind of irrelevant, so it was a cute little activity, but not much of a game. As much as I get tired of the old Apples-to-Apples formula that a LOT of games copy (everyone proposes something, the judge picks their favorite), I feel like it at least works better for scoring. I can certainly see why some groups could have a great time with this, there's just other word games we prefer more. As far as the components, the tiles are little rubbery squares which works well and keeps them light and waterproof. The cards are also a nice coated material that feels very nice. Overall, fun game for a silly party activity, especially if everyone likes to be creative, but not something I would readily suggest of you want a "real" game with scoring and points. ... show more
