  • Effective money learning & management tool for young folks
Format: Kindle
As we can all attest, as we grow, learning how money works can be tough and is often acquired through experience. However, this book makes it easier to figure things out without hopefully having to go through painful learning experiences. It breaks down confusing money stuff into easier to understand ideas. I think the best parts of the book are the using credit wisely tips, staying out of money trouble, and the impact money can have on you, especially with regard to planning for your future. I recommend giving this book to your teen/young adult. It will help them understand about money and can serve as a reference guide moving forward. ... show more

  • Brilliant
Format: Kindle
Every teen should know this. Financial ignorance is the reason many live in poverty and if you don’t start early, then it’s hard to catch up later. The book is well researched and written but would be good if the parents also read it so the key points can be discussed. There is a lot in this book, so its best-read part by part and then absorbed. Its very well done. ... show more

  • A book that every young adult should read
Format: Kindle
Roice Ross writes in, The Definitive Guide To Personal Finance For Teens And Young Adults, “Literacy refers to the ability to read and write in a language. As such, we can say, by extension, that financial literacy begins with understanding the language of money,” and that is what does the Author in this book explaining how to build personal finance. Though the book targets young adults, there is sufficient information that people of any age will find helpful. Written in an easy-to-understand language, this is an excellent book for understanding basic financing. ... show more

  • Well done guide for parents to use while instructing their teens in finances
Format: Kindle
This book is a good general overview of personal finances. I like that it spoke about a person's attitude/relationship to money, and encouraged budgeting, saving and investment. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because its advertised as being for teens directly. I don't think most teens would sit down and read this cover to cover. The book is very text heavy, and doesn't include practical exercises for a deeper understanding of the topics. Other than one graphic of a budget, there are no illustrations, which would make it more accessible to young readers. The writing is self is good, but at a fairly advanced reading level. I think this book would be good for a parent to using while providing instruction in finances, but it isn't going to picked up and read by most teens and young adults themselves. As a resource for parents to use with their kids though, I think it is well done. ... show more

  • An Insightful Financial Guide for Teens and Young Adults
Format: Kindle
The Definitive Guide to Personal Finance for Teens and Young Adults is a great resource that delivers both foundational knowledge and practical strategies in a way that's teen-friendly and engaging. It offers a thorough breakdown of budgeting basics, a balanced look at the double-edged nature of credit cards, and encourages readers to take a long-term perspective on investing—a critical mindset for young people just starting out. What really sets this book apart is how it ends: with a powerful discussion of the emotional side of money. It thoughtfully explores the temptation to tie one's self-worth to one's bank account and helps teens develop a healthier, values-based relationship with money. I recommend this book for any teen or young adult ready to take control of their financial future with clarity and confidence. ... show more

Format: Kindle
This is an excellent pathway for discussing finances. It covers money, how to use it, a budget, and "What do you mean by future?" The many complicated aspects of responsible money management are discussed. This is a great first step to teaching about the world of money.

This book is vital for young people to get their fiscal house in order. Life is not a handout. There has never been more opportunity to learn about money. There has never been more opportunity to make money. The content of the book makes a great impression that money management has to be a priority. Budgeting, saving, investing, and utilizing apps makes it all easy to do. I love the coverage in the book on crypto. Gen Y, Millennials and Gen Z have every opportunity to lay down a solid base of fiscal management with the info in this book. Pay yourself first, start an emergency fund, and control debt.
