  • Definitely worth the test-drive to decide for yourself!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I have tried a couple of entry-level glucose monitors before this purchase — as a first-time user, new to the whole monitoring-own-glucose routine, they all seemed acceptably functional & easy to use... but now that I'm no longer a "newbie" to this rodeo, I can indeed make the assessment that NOT all monitors & their respective glucose strips are made equal! ● The Contour Next Monitor is a delight to use! First of all, it comes with a bluetooth capability to load all your readings onto a well-designed tracking app — makes reviewing & tracking your cumulative glucose data a breeze & thus makes for really easy discernment of one's glucose glucose regulation patterns 👍👍👍! ● Secondly, the Contour Next test strips are almost "idiot proof" — the "capillary action" is so easily activated! (zero need for endlessly fumbling around, trying to get the strip tip angled & pressed just right into the "sweet spot" of your blood-drop in order to trigger an adequate enough sample getting drawn up into the reaction zone 🙄🙄🙄... yup, finally made me realize the many wasted test strips & unnecessary repeat finger pricks I had to go through were not due to an issue of user ability, but rather due to the poor testing-strip design of other brands!) And unlike other brands, these strips seem to produce consistent, reliable readings — they do not produce wildly fluctuating values (i.e. of multiple, immediately consecutive samplings)... so sure, Contour Next brand strips may not be the cheapest ones available on the market, but hey, their reliability & good design more than offset the price difference for me! ● And lastly, a purchase price of under 10-USD to get started with the system (i.e. the monitor, a lancing device, 10 test strips/10 lancets, and even a carry case)...???! — at that price, it's really worth the opportunity to test-drive the Contour Next system yourself. I'm so pleased I did! ... show more

  • Great tester!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
So, I love this little device! Needed to check in with my blood sugar (on a keto diet now, working wonders for my health!) and chose this because it seemed most convenient, plus pairs with my phone and keeps records stored. Like others, I at first had difficulties keeping it connected to my phone (HTC10) until I discovered a simple trick. I open the app, turn on the meter device, put it next to my phone (where it is stored as a paired device), turn my Bluetooth phone setting off, then back on, hit "Scan" on my phone, and then go back to the app, and it connects every time, no issues. It won't just connect, after having been turned off, and left for a day or so, but I was freaking out and re-pairing it from scratch each time, and then discovered all I had to do was cycle my BT off and on, as described above, and, presto, it instantly is recognized. Love that you can specify what meal you had, fasting versus before meal versus after meal, etc., and all the data is so easily stored and graphed, and of course it indicates if you're within you're targeted range as well. Love the small footprint, wonderful carrying case that holds everything, and ease of use is great. Requires very little blood on the strip and I've never had a failed or problem reading. I did not like the lancing device in the kit -- found it quite painful -- so I ordered the Softclix, from Accu-Chek, and it's virtually painless, no issues with the required poke, at all. And, it fits right in the carry case that came with this meter, so I just swapped it out with the other one. Kind of ridiculous that our medical system is such that we have to be our own doctors, but devices like this make self care possible. And, thanks to the keto diet, my blood sugar is well in check and improving, along with weight and BP and general health. This tool is a great asset for my self care! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Simple to use and accurate
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This meter is very simple to use and not having to code it for the test steps is an added benefit. While the meter requires very little blood for testing, it allows you to add more if needed instead of wasting a test strip. The display is large and bright making it easy to read. It is also color coded for a quick visual on where your reading is. Green, yellow and red for in range, going out of range and high. I also have a One Touch Ultra mini but the cost of the test strips is so outrageous I no longer use it. I bought this meter because of the good reviews and the reasonable cost of the strips. So far I am extremely pleased with my choice. I will say that the android phone app used for recording test results is not the most user friendly; it works well but it takes a little bit to get used to. I do not like that I have to connect to the internet and have my phone's gps on before it will sync my meter to it. The Contour device only requires bluetooth to connect to the phone but the app itself won't work without internet. Again annoying but not deal breaker as the Contour device itself does not require the phone to work and one can always keep a log the old fashioned way, with pen and paper. I highly recommend the Contour, I have used several different brands over the last 40 plus years and this device is very accurate. ... show more

  • Good meter - but not worth leaving the Contour Next USB
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This meter works well. I'm satisfied with its accuracy. It is easy to use. I have had no problems keeping it synchronized with my HTC M10 (running Android V7 Nougat) despite that phone not being on the approved phones list. I suppose I got lucky there. I had been using a Contour Next USB and I liked that test meter quite a bit. I was hoping this one would be better in many ways, but I found that to be not the case. The Contour Next USB charges from any USB port or power adapter and would run at least 200 tests before needed another charge. I was more than a little surprised to learn the Contour Next ONE uses two CR2032 batteries and is not rechargeable. This was very disappointing and is why I rated the meter 4 instead of 5 stars. Putting batteries back in is a step backwards. Bluetooth connectivity works well and the Android app is adequate. One still needs to use the GlucoFacts Deluxe software on a computer (and connect via USB) to get longer than 30 days data. This is also a disappointment. I'd hoped for much more from the app and bluetooth connectivity. ... show more

  • Good buy Good buy
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Great product. Compact design and bright display for the visually impaired. Pretty accurate when compared to my Dexcom G7. The only issue is that the blue tooth connectivity doesn’t work. Good thing for me it’s not a deal breaker.

  • Excellent glucometer and value
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Works exactly as the one I purchased in the store. Great value and one of the easiest glucometers I've used. I especially like that if you don't put enough blood on the strip that you have an extra minute to add more. I was so used to wasting strips if you underestimated! I've noticed a few negative reviews that I wanted to respond to. One review said that when they put blood on the strip it did nothing. That's most likely because you didn't add enough blood and it was waiting the minute for more, as I mentioned above. Another review complained that they had no idea what end of the strip to put the blood on and wasted strips trying to figure it out. If you read the instructional manual, it shows a picture of the strip with arrows as to which part goes into the meter and which part gets the blood. Couldn't get any clearer. And finally, many reviews complained that no strips were included. The listing and the box in the photo do not say there are strips. There are other listings for a complete kit with a sample pack of strips, but this isn't one of them. I hate to see products get bad reviews because people haven't read the instructions or listing. ... show more

  • Meter works well!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Did you know that drinking coffee (no sugar, no creamer) can raise your blood glucose read by 50 units? It's the caffeine. Doesn't happen to everyone... I though for sure my rather elderly Contour glucose meter had gone to visit the great glucose meter in the sky when I kept seeing 160 after my morning Joe. So I ordered this new meter. Which luckily for me works with my current set of strips. Same results. Conclusion: Contour meters work for a stunningly long time (my old one is about 5 years old). Some people are no longer fasting if they drink black coffee before a blood test. (my doc used to allow black coffee... :( ... show more

  • Excellent meter, excellent app
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Bought this one because of the app. It connects seamlessly via Bluetooth to my iPhone and provides a very handy electronic record of glucose levels. According to what I have read the Contour Next system is the most accurate consumer level tester.
