Purchased this to have something warm to throw on going to and from the swimming pool and other times as needed (didn't want to risk ruining favorite clothes with chlorine/pool water). Very comfy, kiddo was happy to have it and always felt warmer in it on those cold days. Thick soft and cozy fleece but it is just fleece so don't expect it to keep the wind out. We sometimes also wore a coat over it when cold and windy.
