My mom especially loves fresh flowers but keeping them alive was always a bit of a pain between having to take the flowers out, drain the old water and replace it then put the (now shedding from nasty water) flowers back into the vase. Alright, is this a third world problem this vase is solving? Clearly not. BUT it DOES make it a million times easier (and kinda satisfying to so easily watch that nasty water go down the drain) so now our flowers have an actual shot at life now because it's easier than ever to change the water. After my mom opened this as a Christmas present, she immediately had me get her more. (Pst! My whole family is getting one too for Mother's Day because we're in love) so don't overthink it. Get the vase and give your flowers a true shot at living past day 3.

I bought one of these for my wife as a Christmas present. A couple of days after she opened the gift, she bought a dozen roses at the grocery store to test drive the vase. Over the next couple of days, she said things like, "This thing is awesome!" and "What a great design!" So that's a win!

Vase looks great, feels sturdy and works great too. The hole in the bottom has not leaked while in use and I figured it probably would. Have received many compliments on how nice it looks.

This is sturdy, looks good and well designed for lifting out flowers and trimming them. However, it does not make water changes much easier. Yes, you pull the top off holding the flowers, which simultaneously also pulls the plug on a bottom hole so all the water drains (yes, make sure to do it over a sink). The problem is, you can’t easily add fresh water before returning the flowers because the drain plug is connected to the top section. So using this vase, you have to connect the top back of on and add water around the flowers like any other regular vase.

I love the whole concept of this vase. It works like it says it will. The only recommendation I would make to the creator is to have the top to widen more. When I put a grocery store (for size ref) purchased flower arrangement in the vase, the flowers are bunched up tightly. Instead of a straight cylinder container, the top of the vase needs to widen somewhat so that the flowers can spread out a bit and you can arrange them more. Currently the flowers smash each other.

This is a neat concept, and I really wanted to like it. However, there are some design flaws that make it hard to use, so I returned mine. 1. The vase is too big around to twist apart easily unless you have large hands. 2. You can't see the water level or clarity, so it's hard to know when to change the water. The plastic also looks like, well, plastic. 3. You have to take the flowers out of the top and reconnect the pieces to add more water because twisting the vase apart opens the plug. I'd be very interested in a narrower glass version if they ever make subsequent editions of the amaranth vase. The concept is intriguing, but the execution leaves something to be desired.
