  • Heartwarming Humor
A funny, charming tale centered around the coupling of a sweet, decent widower and a likeable, middle-aged nurse with an agenda. The story quickly unfolds, hooking you in just as fast. Though this is unquestionably a love story, the deep affection is not solely between Rocco and Lucia. One cannot dismiss Lucia's ultimate deed of selflessness to save her mother. Who cares that she had no desire (or boyfriend, for that matter) to lock herself into the bonds of marriage? Her mom is worth any sacrifice. Then there is the heartwarming friendship of Rocco and Gino. When Rocco uncovers the motive behind Lucia's proposal, he was devastated. The subsequent lashing out at Gino for his bungling of the engagement ring left his longtime pal in deep distress. Fortunately, there are more than a few amusing and playful moments sprinkled throughout this film. I was thoroughly entertained and surprisingly, my husband was, too. ... show more

  • A CHARMING, SWEET MOVIE OF LOVE IN AN ITALIAN FAMILY, VERY FUNNY
THIS IS SIMPLY A DELIGHTFUL FILM OF AN ITALIAN DENTIST WHO MAKES A DEAL WITH A WOMAN HE LOVES THAT THEY WILL MARRY IF HE GIVES HER A NICE ENGAGEMENT RING. WHAT HE DOES NOT KNOW IS SHE IS FOLLOWING HER MOTHER’S BARGIN THAT THEN SHE WILL HAVE A HEART OPERATION. ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT, ESPECIALLY THE PRIEST. ONE THING THOUGH........THE RING GETS LOST. ENJOY. ... show more

  • amateurish but in a good way
amateurish, but not in a bad way. the story is very simplistic, the acting basic with little nuance, and the plot twists very predictable. but in a way this simplicity is a winning characteristic of the film, which is quite enjoyable.

  • Don’t bother.
There’s nothing here. I just can’t ... the actress who plays the elderly mother can’t even fake being Italian American. This is an awful awful movie.

  • Good, Clean, Enjoyable
I've loved Tammy Pesacatelli since the first time I saw her stand-up comedy. It's great to see her in a movie and that she is aging so well (she looks great and appropriate...not fake). With that said, the movie was good, clean, enjoyable movie to watch with just the right balance. Sometimes a movie like this can be too "poo-poo" - this wasn't there was some tension, some quirk, some cliche and some predictability. Still is was worth the watch (Amazon scrambling for productions - has such cramp on Prime Video). This was a welcome relief. There actors were not headliners, yet they did a good job! They were believable and engaging. Just so you know there is NO wild, crazy, sex, drugs, rock-roll, T&A here. So if that's what you're after - skip this. It's somewhere along the lines of Andy Griffith, Friends, Seinfeld and just a tad bit The Wedding Singer. Enjoy the view! ... show more

  • A worthy attempt, but not up to my expectations.
This movie is slightly entertaining but amateurish. The acting is good, but the script is rather tedious. Lucia's mother said she did not think she would live to see 80, but she looked 90. Why? The plot had a major flaw in it. Gino and Rocco are scripted to be best friends, but Rocco is surprised that Gino is half Jewish and fluent in Yiddish. Rocco and Lucia both do a good job with their parts. ... show more

  • well worth the time..
Dave, I remember when we where in an acting class and you told me about a script you wrote and the excitement that you had in having it produced. Now I can see why! Great work all around; fine acting, believable funning touching dialogue and good movement! Definitely sharing this film , so others can enjoy, laugh and pass it forward. Big thumbs up!! ... show more

  • Delightful
I call these types of films vanity films and I love them. The movie was obviously a work of passion. The movie is filled with delightful characters and a good storyline that kept us interested. And the music score was great! We really enjoyed the music. I hope this crew produces another movie soon.
