I finally upgraded to a KVM switch after 3 years of manually changing all my cords back and forth from my work PC to my gaming PC multiple times a week. Overall, very happy with this product. Works as advertised. I have 2 hiccups and 1 tip. The only two drawbacks I am experiencing are: 1) only 4/6 cords required were provided. All in all not a big deal, just made it very confusing during set-up when I couldn't get both monitors to work. You need 2 additional HDMI cables. 2) You have to run the splitter cable (audio/mic/usb/hdmi) and a second HDMI cable to each PC. So if you have a laptop with only one HDMI port, you'll have to use a splitter/docking station in between the KVM and the laptop, which adds bulk and cords to the mess that has evolved under your desk. I docked one star for this because if I didn't have a docking station already I would have been really annoyed. For me this is a minor inconvenience. Tip: Cord management during set up is your best friend with this thing. If (like me) it's not a skill you have, take the time to figure out your structure before trying to hide things under your desk. ... show more

Style: USB Sharing Switch
Only paid about $15 after discount for the 2 pc switch, front ports can share 3 usbs (kb, mouse, other), plus 3.5mm speaker and mic. Great front facing screen with bright display showing which device is active and a dot to indicate if the hotkey is on or off. Operation is flawless. Automatic windows drivers work as expected, no additional install required. I am using this switch between my personal pc and my work pc which is fairly heavily locked down, and have no issues with it whatsoever. Switching is fast and takes only about a second once the key is hit if you use the keyboard/mouse shortcut, maybe 100ms if you use the SELECT button directly. This thing is built like a tank, the weight of it surprised me when I was unboxing it. I would not be surprised if the box itself outlives the usefulness of the underlying technology. I paid almost twice this price for the "amazon's choice" product for a USB switch, which is total junk in comparison. Plastic housing, dim indicator light (on the top, not on the front), 3-5 second delay switching between devices. I originally went looking for a replacement to see if I could find one that worked faster for about the same money, instead I found one that is 10x better for half the price. im a streamer / content creator and i use 2 seperate pc's . one i use for editing/voiceovers/ and managing my streams overall and the other does all the other heavy work of playing game. ive heard of kvbm's before but have never used one . after a long time of just trying to manage 2 sets of keyboards and mice its just become too annoying and cumbersome . i had my doubts about using one because i didnt wanna inrtroduce input lag on my gaming mouse and keyboard but this works like its directly connected . i can even switch at will with keyboard or mouse shortcuts in addition the the button on the device . idk how ive gone this long wothout buying one of these but im glad i did now. highly recomended for anyone with 2 pcs and not enough desk space. ... show more

Setup: 1. Macbook Pro M1 w/ touch bar. Connected as PC#1 to the KVM. I'm using a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter on 1 USB-C port. I'm using a small USB-C Passthrough hub in the other USB-C port. 2. Alienware M15R4 Gaming Laptop. Connected as PC#2 to the KVM. I'm using a mini DP to DisplayPort adapter. 3. Alienware AW510K wired keyboard. 4. Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor - G3223Q. Supports up to 144hz refresh rate w/ DP 1.4 or HDMI 2.1. This monitor also has 2x USB 3 ports and a headphone out port. 5. I'm using the same keyboard for both workstations but separate mice. I like using Apple's magic mouse for programing and Mac use. I use a wired Logitech G502 HERO for my Alienware gaming. The cable setup was easy, unfortunately didn't work out of the box. Problem #1: The Keyboard was not recognized when using the included keyboard out port. I had to use my monitor's included USB 3 port to plug in my keyboard and mouse. I routed my monitor's kvm cable to 3.0 HUB port in the Terived KVM. An alternative could have been to purchase a cheap USB 3.0 hub and connect it to the 3.0 HUB port in the Terived KVM, then connect the keyboard and any peripheral to be shared in it. My monitor just so happen to have a mini hub included so I used that. Problem #2: The Monitor kept "disconnecting" every few seconds when playing Cyberpunk 2077 on 144 Hz refresh rate. If I lowered the refresh rate to 60Hz, then it worked fine. I had to go out of my way to purchase gold plated high end DisplayPort 1.4 cables. I changed the cable going from my PC#2 to the KVM and from the KVM going to the Monitor. Now the monitor very rarely disconnects, even under 4k - 144Hz gaming. Problem #3: The audio from the DisplayPort cables that is routed through the monitor's headphone out port into Logitech Z407 speakers. Sometimes stop working until I cycle between PCs a few times or turn on/off the monitor. My advice is that if you are going to buy this KVM unit. Buy your own high quality DisplayPort cables as well as a cheap USB 3.0 hub to complement it. ... show more

This solved an issue my girlfriend struggled with because she uses my work desktop when I'm not using it for her job. The way this product comes in clutch is that it allows her to easily plug in her laptop and take advantage of my dual monitor setup without having to swap cords in the hard to reach area behind the tower. When I need to use my desktop again, it switches over with just the push of a button. This is DEFINITELY a first world issue, but nevertheless that issue has been solved! 5 stars ... show more
