Bought this as a gift for our 8 year old son, and he loves it! He recently has talked a lot about wanting to look at the moon, stars, or anything else he can see in the sky, and he has a great time using it. We were attracted to the different eyepieces (K20mm & K9mm), 400mm focal length and 70mm aperture as it has given our son different viewing options. We bought this telescope for my son's birthday, and he has been one happy kid (and so has been my husband). It has provided hours of family time. It is super easy to use. You can easily see the moon and stars. You can get a descent view of the planets when they are in view. Make sure to buy a guide to the stars so you know the time of the year, and where and when to look for the planets and stars. This is best for newbies. It has really sparked my son's interest and helped us. I love that you can hook up your phone. My son is a professional at working the whole system, and learned a lot faster than us at 8 years old. There are a lot of how-to videos on youtube for those that struggle if you are one that needs the extra help, but it is quite simple to work. It is very portable to take with you and to pack away. It is a great beginner telescope, but it is a not a child's telescope either. It is truly great! It is worth the money and a great investment. ... show more

    • Patience is needed for setup and usage
I was looking for a new telescope that would provide the ability to photograph the moon and other night objects. This telescope is fairly well made. But like other low priced telescopes, it fails in some situations. The instructions for assembly were somewhat cryptic in the translation to English. I was able to decipher them enough to set up the telescope. One of the main failings is the stableness or rather, unstableness of the tripod. After getting the telescope assembled one of the first things to assist in the use of the telescope is getting the spotter scope to align correctly to match the image in the main telescope. This was a test of patience and trial and error. Once aligned, it worked fairly well. However the general unstableness of the tripod and the movement of the telescope made viewing difficult. I would suggest attaching the telescope tripod to a more stable anchor. The camera attachment was another disappointing factor. I would have included images taken using the attachment, but I never succeeded in getting the phone camera attachment to work well enough to get a decent image. I am still looking for a better telescope. This may work okay for beginning astronomy viewing, but lacks enough stability for my needs. ... show more

This telescope actually works!! I went through multiple telescopes with so many issues from blurriness to loose parts to all other issues but this one surprised me on how good it performs. On a clear night sky you can actually go out and see different stars and the airplanes even look cool with it! Even if you live in the city you can find something to look at. It’s so stable so there is no worries about parts moving when they shouldn’t. The pictures are clear, it’s easy to assemble and de-assemble. It works pristinely for its price point! I was recommended to buy by a friend who is really interested in astrology and it didn’t disappoint. It actually made me more interested myself. If anyone out there wants a product that gives you satisfaction when it comes to looking at the sky and the stars then you stumbled upon the product that actually fulfill that satisfaction. I would highly recommend it and it was delivered on time and no issues with the box or the product itself. Buy it and you won’t regret! ... show more

It came with an impressive packaging, everything was included as per the item description. Setup manual was crisp and very easy to follow, took less than 5 mins to setup everything. I used in a clear sky to watch Moon and Jupiter, the image was astonishingly clear and sharp, you need to start with the basic lense to understand the zoom and focus. My 6 yrs old was so happy to watch the moon in an eyepiece. It comes with a mobile holder as well so that you can attach your phone to telescope and capture image directly from an eyepiece. It's useful when you want to show the output image to everyone. Tripod is steady and was firm throughout our usage, pretty tough material, not at all wobbly. I'm happy with this item. ... show more

I absolutely love it. Not only I look for the moon but also anything at a distance. Recently I have been looking at cars far away in the streets and trying to get their lp number. Its easy to assemble and great item to have at your place. Its a decoration, showoff and my friends love it. It might be a little difficult to use at first try but you will get used to it after a while to track things and get it to focus. I recommend this product for sky lovers or whoever wanna collect cool things for their place. ... show more
