UPDATE: After having the TV for four days, an Android update was pushed to the TV. Now the interface is even better! Also, I can now control the TV with the Google TV app and the remote control it has within the app is pretty good. I wonder what other new features I will find. Therefore, I am updating my review to 5 stars. When I was looking for a tv for my kitchen table, I wasn't exactly sure which size to get - either a 24" or a 32". I thought a 24" would end up being too small. I was hoping to find a full HD tv at 32", but Amazon did not sell one directly. I didn't want to buy a television through that other big electronics retailer, as they totally messed up my order the last time I bought a tv from them. So, I only wanted to buy directly from Amazon. Given that it's for the kitchen, I didn't want to spend that much, as it will eventually become covered with all kinds of shmutz. And when technology improves for this size of a tv in the future, it wouldn't be so bad to buy a new one in several years time. Anyway, the tv arrived a day early, which was good. Box was in good condition, so that's a plus. The tv is very light and was easy to take out of the box. Everything that was supposed to be included, was. The stand was easy to install. I installed the batteries and it immediately powered up just fine. Now, I knew going in it was going to be a 720p tv. So, I really can't say that's a total negative. Pros: * Decent picture quality out of the box. However, you need to change some of the presets to get a better picture. There's picture mode called "Smart HDR." I changed to that one while watching a video, and it made quite a difference. As far as I know, this isn't an HDR-capable tv, so I'm not sure what this is there for. But it improved and smoothed the picture, so I left it on that. I also increased the color a bit on the color scale, which for me, improved things a bit more. Watching remastered shows on Tubi like Space: 1999, looked really, really good. Very sharp and colorful. * Have not had a problem in keeping a connection to the internet. * The Android platform is good, since I'm used to it with my Sony, along with voice control and all the information that you can ask it from google and the internet. Want to know the weather? It will show you that, too. * Nice Design. Very sleek and the feet are thin and narrow. * Great free streaming. This tv isn't going to be hooked up to cable, but for my need, it doesn't have to be. I basically wanted a YouTube and Tubi machine. * Very fast and responsive. Immediately comes on when I press the power button. * Remote is small and had no number pad. But again, I don't need it. It does have a dedicated YouTube button, which is great for my use. * Ask the TV anything with your voice. Cons: * COULD NOT get it to connect to Alexa. No matter how many times I tried, it would not connect with the TCL/Alexa assistant app. I'll have to try again. But it's quite frustrating that I could not yet get that to work. It was able to connect to my older Roku TV, but not this one. * COULD NOT get it to connect to my Google Home Mini. I can control my Sony Android tv with my voice using that device, but I still need to try to connect this tv to it. Not sure what the problem, is. If I come up with a solution, I will post it. * No Discover capability with this TV. My other android tv has a Discover button, but not this one. Also, on the top of the Home screen, there is no recommendation on top as there is with my other tv. I really don't need it, but it is perplexing as to why this Android tv doesn't have it. Maybe the 32" models don't have it. * Sound is a bit flat. Doesn't sound stereo-like But it's clear. In conclusion, for a sub $200 tv for use in the kitchen, it will probably do the job until I want something more advanced. Don't expect equal performance to a $1500 tv, because that's not what you are getting. If you just need basic, decent picture quality and clear sound, you probably can't go wrong for the price. ... show more

The best priced tv I've ever found, and lasts. I bought a 32" for teen ager #1 a few years ago. Then bought a 46"for the living room. Then upgraded to a 50" , so kid #2 took the former LR tv for his room. Now I have a 32" that I use for a computer monitor, because... it's so much easier to see than a laptop screen. :) Incredibly simple to set up the tv, then I plugged in the HDMI cord, and BOOM. Done. The 32" was $150. A computer monitor costs more than that. I had TWO monitors that crapped out, and then it dawned on me that I can get an actual tv for less, and I can watch lots of streaming channels on it if I want, and STILL bigger than the monitor. Win win. I was a huge Samsung fan,all I bought for years. I still am, but for a good tv on a budget you definitely can't go wrong with this. ... show more

So far I cannot get audio from our DirecTV receiver. We can get video and closed captioning. It is probably an issue on the DirecTV side of things but I haven't had time to completely troubleshoot it. The apps, like Pluto TV are great but so far I haven't figured out an easy transition between the apps and the DirecTV video. Yet overall it's an attractive set with many good features. It's in a location where we don't watch it a lot, so the DirecTV issue isn't so important. ... show more

Android/Google user here who installed this TV in a van. I returned a TCL Roku TV (Same price) for this TCL Android TV and the difference is HUGE. Google voice assistant is a game changer. Since off grid, I use my ATT Hotspot and stream mostly Youtube and Youtube TV over 2.4gz . It barely consumes phone battery or bandwidth. I can Chromecast other web content from my phone to the TV and get this... THE TV's REMOTE CONTROL can control that stream. BRILLIANT ... show more

Setup went pretty well and is easier if you have a google account already as it pulls data from there to setup the TV. Works off the Wifi fine without any issues. There is some lag periodically when scrolling through generally when it has to load data. This may be more a connection issue and not the TV itself. No issues with lag when show is running. Picture quality is fine and have it in an area without glare anyway so cant really comment. No issues with mounting it as this TV is really pretty light. Would recommend this TV if you need a smaller screen for a space as this does a great job particularly for the price point. ... show more
