Purchased to hold reading glasses nearby. This attracts attention in a fun way. Nicely made, well painted. two very minor issues, one: the cut out to hold the frames is just a tad too far back for my glasses. The 2d is that the cut out for the frames is not painted, which is a bit silly to have skipped 6 drops of paint to make it a solid color. All-in-all a good purchase, and several people that have seen it asked for the link so they can order for themselves.

This giraffe surprised me - it is small yet just the perfect size to fit on my mother's desk at work. She calls her giraffe, Gerome, and finds that if she crosses the glasses at the right spot, Gerome looks like he has on his reading glasses. She was planning on giving him as an office grab bag; however, she will have to purchase Gerome's brother George. His spots are a perfect brown with a tinge of orange - similar to his cousins in the wild. This will definitely be an item to start discussions. I also want to point out that unlike other character eyeglass holders, this giraffe has a natural spot to hang the glasses While others have a definite cut out which looks weird if the glasses are not on the stand this one looks like it is a sculpture. Great for sunglasses, glasses, and reading glasses.

The giraffe carving itself is wonderful! Its light but sturdy and feels like quality wood. There are some minor imperfections with the carving, such as choppy lines around the eyes and in the curve of the ear, a missing chip in the other ear- there was some wood splintering which was concerning but I was able to brush it away without getting any injuries. The coloring, however, is my biggest disappointment. It seems done with some kind of marker? The color bleeds here and there with disappointing, inconsistent coverage. The black around the eye is a single line that bleeds and becomes spotted with the color of the wood. The mouth on one side seems to have little to no ink. This is probably an individual problem, as each Giraffe is also hand 'painted.' Overall, for $10 its worth the price. Its cute, holds glasses without issue and as long as you don't inspect it too hard the visual issues fade to the background. However, it lands at a 3 star for having a misleading cover photo and the imperfections from my personal purchase.
