The plates are nice BUT you can't tell from the pictures that there is a dropped inner ring on the plate. Given that it's a plate meant for presentation of food, this is annoying. If you plate food spaced out or not completely covering the inner part it looks odd. I may as well just present the food in the Pyrex pan I baked it in... ... show more

    • Nice Side Platter size, many uses
These platters are well finished. Smooth shiny ceramic, sturdy but not exceedingly heavy, dishwasher safe and stackable. They're bigger than a dinner plate but smaller than a serving platter. A... side platter... if you will. They work great for laying out several different items on one tray; various fruits, or veggies or cuts of meat. You could probably put a main course on here if it were for a small gathering. A meat loaf or a cut of prime rib... possibly a small chicken. They even would work well as a uniquely shaped large dinner plate for laying out several courses on one plate with some room to wiggle. If you're looking to fill out that sort of odd, in between niche in the tableware arsenal, this is a good choice. These are nice trays for entertaining. I like that they come in a set of three because I can have a tray for fruit, one for meats, and one for desserts. It says it's microwave and oven safe but doesn't indicate what temperature in the oven it's safe for, nor does it say it's dishwasher safe, although I'm assuming they are, as I've washed them in the dishwasher without a problem. They're heavy and sturdy feeling, and I don't have the sense that I have to be "too" careful to not chip them. They stack together neatly as well. Overall they're a nice set to have and I find that I end up using them as an extra platter to hold my random fruit on the kitchen counter. ... show more
