  • Table saw operation book.
This is an excellent book for a beginner to learn how to use a table saw. Very good instructions and drawing regarding how to safely us a saw. A must for a beginner to have.

  • Great basic book.
When handling power tools, always do your research and learn about the features of the product. This is a good primer book for just that.

  • Excellent---well done
A "should have" shop reference book for all table saw users, as well as for those that are planning to buy a table saw. Table saw manuals, that come with the machine, only cover the basics for the applicable model. This book is well done---concise, is easy to follow instructions, photos and illustrations, as well as useful jigs. I’d recommend this book as “required reading” material for table saw users. The entire family of “The Missing Shop Manual” are well done. ... show more

  • Clear but Very Basic
Table Saw, The Tool Information You Need At Your Fingertips (Missing Ship Manual) is a very clearly written and well illustrated book. Every drawing is well thought out and presented. The text is also clear and concise, what there is of it. The problem, and it is a big one, is the manual is so basic. It does show how to build a cross cut sled, for example, but the vast majority of the book is give to telling one how to rip a board or how to use the cross cut miter gage. Even the maintenance instructions are basic - with one exception. If you are buying your first table saw this might be an educational book for you; however, if you have used a table saw for even one month this book will start to look very basic. Another good thing about the book is its stress on safety. Even the cross cut sled has a number of good safety features, even though I have seen more in a cross cut sled plan by Woodsmith. To earn even three stars the book would have to include more easy to make jigs. AD2 ... show more

  • Inadequate
This is a very small book. Measuring about 4.5x6 inches, with 142 pages, it really doesn't have room to thoroughly discuss the ideas it presents. The ideas and illustrations are decent, as far as they go, but if you have a table saw and want to use it well, you need a book with better explanations. As an example, the section on table saw alignment is much too short. While every table saw owner can and should learn to align their saw, this won't really help. Your manual is a good start, but a book on table saws ought to tell you a lot more. This format just doesn't allow it. The same is true for every subject discussed here; too little information. There are countless resources that offer much more details, more jigs, more techniques - books, DVDs, woodworking magazines. There's no reason to put inadequate books like this on your shelf when there are better treatments available. ... show more
