I took a gamble on this bed frame because I had already purchased the two matching dressers, nightstands, and vanity table. Let me tell you i was sincerely surprised by the quality and sturdiness of this bed! While it did take some time to put together, I would gladly do it again. The storage bench is great and has a lot of room for extra blankets, sheets, or whatever. Definitely worth the money!

Previously, I have only bought one piece of furniture online and typically buy from a brick and mortar retail store. This gives me the chance to see it in person and try it out. While I was very hesitant to buy this King sized bed online, it was really my only option because nearly every furniture store in our area has closed. Our house is in fact a 120 year old farm house and this semi-modern farmstyle bed fit the aesthetic we were looking to add to our room. The bed arrived in two (2) boxes and you should definitely eat your Wheaties because they are HEAVY. We had to open the boxes and carry the individual pieces up to our second floor because there was no way we were getting them up the stairs without a dolly and using that would probably damage our stairs. One of the things I was absolutely dreading was putting this bed together with instructions that I assumed would be terrible and ambiguous. To my surprise, they were incredibly well documented and had very clear and easy to decipher pictures of what needed to be done in each step. There was only one issue that I had encountered with the parts identified with the letter "U". These are beauty caps that cover the 8 connection points where the left and right side rails attach to the headboard and foot storage section. It was only after the bed was fully put together that I noticed I had unused parts and had to go back through the instructions to figure out where we had missed their placement. It wasn't a big deal because they are non-strucutal but the graphic instructing their placement was very small and I missed it. I didn't feel like pulling the box springs and mattress back off just to place these so I saved them and at a later date when I need to move it or something I'll place them at that time All of the hardware parts are given a letter code. The instructions reference these letter codes to indicate what hardware is applicable to the current step. This, coupled with the well depicted instructions, made putting this bed together very easy. BUILD QUALITY: While the bed is made of particle board wood, the finish on the pieces is very well done. It's smooth, clean, and and looks professional. In addition, the bed is very sturdy and solid. I'm not a carpenter but it feels like they may have used a thicker dimension of particle board which may be what translates to the durable and sturdy feel of the pieces. It may also account for the weight noted earlier. Another aspect I was impressed with is the drawer rails. I was expecting dado groove rails but was happy to see actual ballbearing slide rails. No they are not soft-close rails but they are of better quality than one might expect from this price point. If you wanted to you could go to your local hardware store and upgrade these yourself to the soft-close style. You just need to take the rails that came with the kit and match them up to the rails at the hardware store. In all honesty though this would be an unnecessary upgrade unless you really have a thing for soft-close drawers. It's fairly evident that the holes for the hardware and other assembly points are CNC routed. The cuts are clean and each piece fits very nicely together with no overlap or gaps noted. TOOLS: The bed does come with all the tools necessary to construct the bed frames in its entirety. However, if you have your own tools, use those. I didn't expect them to put high quality tools in the hardware kit to put the bed together. While they will do in a pinch they're uncomfortable to use and if you have your own tools you'll find it much easier to put the bed together. It's a nice-to-have but not a requirement. In addition there are some portions of the instructions which indicate that some of the dowels need to be glued. Dont worry as the hardware kit does supply two (2) tubes of carpentry glue for this purpose. It's more than enough to cover the build. SUMMARY: I was very surprised at the overall quality of the product given the price point. I felt that the bed was well made for the material in which it's constructed. The instructions were very well laid out and easy to understand. Again, the two boxes this bed comes in are very heavy. First of all you need to have patience, second have a ratcheting screwdriver with #1 and #2 bits, a stubby phllips #2 for tight places, a rubber mallet, a 4MM hex key long, or a T-handle 4MM. You can also use parts from the boxes to assist you in leveling while assembling, these can work as an extra set hands which if you assemble this alone you will not have. I have to say the packing of this bed and the dresser and nightstand we bought was engineered beautifully and arrived to the house with no damage. I was probably more impressed with the packing of the furniture than the bed. It's really heavy large boxes, FED EX definitely ducked ringing the doorbell and bringing it in the house, they were like mice and dropped it by the garage and ran, I never heard them. Cut your boxes open carefully and take all the parts to the room your are going to place the bed in, lay all your parts out and check off your hardware list, they even give you extra hardware which if you torque screws like I do, you will need an extra part or two, the manufacturer seems to have have this down to an art form. Be extremely careful with tightening the cams, make sure you use all your dowel pins and glue, once again they have this down to the last piece. Follow the instructions and follow them in order, and do not assume this side is the same as the other, they do have it designed that it will not assemble the wrong way if you do try. Be extra careful when aligning corners, runners and rails, a little mallet to tap in place, make sure edges are even and flush then lock everything down in it's place. The wood pieces are engineered beautifully and look very good when finished, the drawers are press board and really the only part of the bed I do not like, I would have paid an extra $50.00 for real wood drawers, only the fronts of the drawers are wood. The storage foot board is nice and will hold blankets and sheets, and is great to sit on and get dressed. The bed slats allow either a box spring, or hybrid mattress, my box spring and mattress is 16 inches but works well with the bed. I'm not sure if an adjustable bed will work inside the bed frame, the area is tight for my box spring and mattress, you may be able to remove the bed support rails, for the corner brackets and the screws that mount the head and foot board to the rails tie the bed together. Overall the bed is really nice when finished, the dresser and nightstand also worked in the same fashion, this set would be about 1800.00 in the store, and may not be built this well. I would like real wood drawers, and they would be worth the extra money and they would make this set outstanding. It will take you a while to assemble it, don't try to do it all at one time, take breaks and get away for an hour or so. Follow the instructions, look at the diagrams, and you will have no issues, and will look great in your bedroom when finished.

I paid about $500 for this bed and $270 for professional assembly, and the build had to stop at step 32 because the threaded wood inserts are defective. Instead of gripping the wood, the inserts spin inside the holes and pop out, which makes it impossible to secure the bolts. The assembler even attempted to repair it using wood repair materials and epoxy, but the inserts still spin. What makes this worse is that we haven’t even reached several of the larger boards yet. The two side rails that hold the slats contain about 20 more threaded inserts, so there’s no way to know how many additional defects there are. Because of this, the bed cannot be assembled or used. This is clearly a quality control failure. Inserts like this should be secure in the wood before the product is ever packaged and shipped. Also be aware that when the item is sold through a third-party seller on Amazon, you may end up being bounced back and forth between the seller and Amazon when trying to resolve a manufacturing defect. I’ve already spent: ~ about $500 for the bed ~ $275 for professional assembly ~ $40+ trying to repair the defective inserts If these inserts fail, the entire bed frame becomes impossible to assemble, so buyers should be aware of the risk.

*Full assembly required* Shipped in two very heavy, well-packed boxes. Lots of cardboard & Styrofoam refuse so be glad if trash day is soon. Each package does include a reminder that it is 1 of 2 total needed for set up. 7-day estimated delivery, 1st package with half of the wood materials, the instructions & hardware arrived in 5 days, 2nd one the next day. Kinda relieved they arrived a day apart. Gave me time to review the set up instructions & breakdown the first box of materials to organize. Each piece is numbered clearly but not in any particular order as far as set up. Required hardware is also provided in individual plastic packages organized alphabetically but again not in any particular order for set up. Instructions specify no power tools should be used. Take that under consideration. Small cordless drill with a weaker setting & cross-tip bit saves lots time, as does a decent screwdriver with a hex bit instead of the provided Allen wrench. Just don't torque down any of these items since it is mostly pressed wood. IYKYK. For a novice or first-timer it can be overwhelming given the hundreds of pieces of hardware. Just keep them all in their respective packages with identifying letters for the duration. The instructions are straightforward but I wouldn't call them insightful. They do require attention to specific details so if you get stuck on what goes where... RTFM. You bought a puzzle with directions so use it. I spaced assembly over two days after my 8-hour work days so I'm not certain how much actual time was spent but it was exhausting. It's not hard work but it's tedious & time-consuming. Your results may vary. If packages had arrived closer to a weekend one Saturday afternoon would've sufficed. Instructions have you assemble the headboard first, then footboard with drawer chest. Lastly the side rails get in on the fun & for most folks they can be easily attached to the first two parts of this project by yourself. The instructions recommend two people, mainly to keep one end level while you work on the other. Reasonably there is something somewhere in your home other than a person that can be used for that purpose. Those arched wood slats have form-fitted plastic pieces that hold them to the side rails & the metal center rail. Tip: use the flat handle of the provided open-end wrench to press those plastic pieces into the holes on the metal side rails. I chose to do the side rails first. Then I connected two wood slats at a time to either side of the middle plastic junction, secured the now opposing ends of the dual wood slats to each side rail & then pushed the middle plastic junction into the holes on the metal center rail. Seemed more practical that way instead of messing with one wood slat at a time. Final step was assembling the drawers. Tip: use the supplied glue when possible for stability on any joints for the drawers. You'll thank me later. Overall I'm very happy with this product & how it looks. It seems like a great design & once fully assembled is sturdy enough to move into whatever spot you want. I definitely plan on adding more of this antique white furniture to complete the bedroom ensemble. Tip: seller should offer me a discount ;-)

We bought this queen size bed for our daughter who is attending university 3k miles away. I was a little worried about our daughter being able to assemble this bed by herself but I read a review of a senior lady who was successful at putting the bed together all by herself so I figured it would be okay. (Spoiler alert: it was!) The bed arrived in 2 big boxes. Our daughter was very impressed how well everything was packed. She said each piece was wrapped and padded very carefully and every piece was in perfect condition! Everything was labeled and easy to sort, also. Our daughter set out to build this bed and 6 hours later she had it all done! It was a learning experience for her and she did end up calling her dad to ask for some clarification on one of the steps. Otherwise, she said the directions were pretty clear and she took her time to do each step correctly before moving on to the next step. Our daughter is so happy with this piece of furniture! She has told me on numerous occasions how beautiful it is and she is impressed by the quality and design, too. It's a very heavy and very well made piece of furniture. She loves the extra storage the attached bench provides and how cool it looks! She is beyond thrilled with her new bed! She says that she is delighted to see her new bed every time she enters her room. She's also told me that her friends all think it's so nice and love it too! She was so pleased that we went ahead and purchased the matching nightstand for her, as well. (And we hit another home run with that piece of furniture too! Also beautiful and well made!) I wanted to wait a while before submitting a review, just to make sure my daughter was still satisfied and happy with it. And she definitely is!
