I absolutely love this one, its bigger than the really small ones I have bought for my grandkids, and easier to use. The learning curve is easy, as there are multiple ways to do the same function. I used what I thought was the easiest for me. I love the hover function, and how easy it is to land. I live on the water, so the second time I flew it, it was probably a little too windy and I should have known better (because my husband told me not so.) but I'm a big kid and I did it anyway. I let the drone get too far away from me and I think the wind took it when I tried to land, I almost made it to shore, except I didn't. No worries, I did have to jump in the bay to rescue my totally submerged drone...ugh! I turned everything off and took out the battery, at home I rinsed in fresh water (drone not the battery) then took the blow dryer to it. I dried the battery, (it comes with two) and everything works fine, and I didn't have to tell my husband he was right...even better! Also, this is actually my first ever successful drone flight, we have lost a total of 3 of the smaller ones so far. This one does take a beating, I managed to get it stuck in a tree and I just wanted it down so i kept messing with the propeller function until it fell out of the tree. Amazing nothing was broken, I slammed into several other obstacles, and I was amazed no damage! This is definitely one to learn on. I plan on getting a bigger one I can fly over the ocean to look for sharks on the shoreline. Equipped with camera also you just have to download the app; you can use the remote or your phone to fly. I only used remote for starters, which is fine for this one. but I think the phone is probably the best to use when you upgrade, so this is perfect to learn the phone control functions, apparently, they are all similar. ... show more

I'm a true beginner, never having flown a drone before. After about 20 minutes, I felt very comfortable operating the drove. For context, I'm 45 years old, and it takes me longer than I like to admit to adapt to new tech sometimes. It was really nice to have a fancy new device that simple enough that I didn't need to call customer support. :) It's a great entry-level drone for anyone curious about the hobby. It's not going to set you back a ton, and it's good enough quality that you won't be held back by something that just isn't up to the job. I'm excited to go out again and start trying out some tricks. If I can get some better video footage, I'll come back and make this a 5 star. ... show more

Ordered this for my 13-year-old son. He got the hang of it real quick and soon was doing flips and aerobatics in the front yard. Was surprised at the good build quality for the price. Comes with extra pieces and parts like propellers that tend to get damaged during the training period. This is the best drone for the money at this price level.     • Worst flying drone ever!
I bought this drone to replace a broken Sky Viper Fury that I used to chase my dog around the yard because he loves it. There’s not a lot of inexpensive toy class drones of a decent size that aren’t focused on cameras anymore. I just want something fun to fly with good speed and range. This Syma was a little more expensive than the Fury and I hoped that it might be even better. Boy was I in for a disappointment. I have owned and flown tens of drones of different sizes, skill levels and prices. This is by far the worst and slowest drone Iv’e ever flown even among “toy” or “beginner” class drones. It made me so mad I felt I needed to write this review. It’s possible I received a lemon and the programming was messed up but if not it’s just completely worthless for flying around with any sort of speed. This thing is basically a hover bot that can do flips in place. That’s exciting for about 3 flips and then gets old immediately. Even in sport mode this thing had absolutely no power. I tried flying this in a 5mph breeze and at full throttle forward I was stuck in place going against the wind, it was quite pathetic. In addition to the poor flying ability the build quality seems terribly suspect and I’m very skeptical of durability. In comparison to the Sky Viper Fury the plastics seem incredibly thin and fragile. The drone itself which is actually larger that the Fury is quite a bit lighter. You would think that would help it fly better but certainly does not. I can’t tell if it’s very underpowered or just terribly programmed so I can’t recommend this Syma drone as there are much better for lower price. Sending this one back immediately. ... show more
