I bought this to take with me to visit my family back in Ohio. I live on the West Coast and had it filled with gifts for every one of my six grandkids and my daughter and son-in-law. When I threw it on the scale at the airport it weighed in at the limit of forty pounds. I had one change of planes at Dallas-Ft. Worth and the turn-around time was just under 35 minutes. I suspect that it was yanked off one plane and raced across the tarmac to the other plane and thrown onto that one. It had to be a close call. I had to race from one terminal to another to catch the plane and as a senior citizen walking with a cane, I just made it and was the last person boarding the plane. When I arrived in Cincinnati, I was prepared to see the brand-new luggage in dire condition. To my surprise, it was in perfect condition. It had made it without any damage being done and all the locks were still intact. On my return trip, I was able to fit all my freshly laundered clothes in it, along with my small rolling luggage, that contained most of my luggage on the way out East. This is a very attractive piece of luggage. It is surprisingly roomy for 21 inches. You have two pockets on the outside of the luggage, not real large but you can put a few items in them. This four wheeler is easy to pull, straight ahead or sideways. I took this on the train. I had packed it full for a 5 day trip and it holds a lot. I am taking away one star for the weight of the item. I didn’t realize when I bought this; fully packed it is heavy! I am a senior and don’t have the strength I once had. I think I should have bought “lightweight” luggage. If you are young and strong, this is for you. Giving it four stars for the look and sturdiness but taking away one star for weight. ... show more

Excellent quality and durability. I travel to a new town everyday for work (typically 2 weeks on the road and a weekend off then repeat) I put constant wear and tear on this luggage and it has yet to show any signs of damage or malfunction with or to any components or the suitcase itself. I beleive i have the 28 or 29" bag. I pack over 2 week's worth of clothes in it plus some miscellaneous items and it still has room for more. Tough bag for sure. Needed a new carry-on for a month long trip to Europe taking only a backpack and a carry-on. Packed the case to the brim for this trip and it survived with flying colors. NO rips, broken zippers, stains after many planes, trains, busses, and cars. Would recommend (One small comment.... when walking with the case faced sideways.... the wheels seem pull to the left or the right. I love that I have options for size when I travel now. My previous set of luggage was only 2 pieces; having this additional piece has been a game changer. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is I’m surprised how the material already looks worn after two airline trips. I genuinely like this bag, it appears to be solid and certainly fits as a Carry-on. I travel 200 plus days a year therefore I fly a great deal. My American Tourister after five years gave out. So need a replacement. Went with Swissgear on advice from friends as to value, durability and ease of use. This is a bit larger and it is certainly roomier. Also the four wheels as solid and sturdy, the only negative is handle height, I am 5'-10" and it's either a bit tall or a bit to short. Bought this for our trip to Spain. It functioned well and did everything she wanted it. It was nice to see a handle on the side as the Samsonite one I bought didn't and it was annoying to get mine to the overhead without a handle while this one with a handle made maneuvering a whole lot easier. PROTIP: 2 carry on this size is bigger than 1 check in full size. Oh, the additional pockets in the front came in handy for putting readily available paperwork when traveling. If she loves it, so would yours (or you... up to you). The only complaint I have would be color. It would be great if Swiss Army would made this RED with black trim than the boring black like everyone else's. ... show more
