This is delicious. I absolutely love it! But… (you knew there had to be a “but,” right?) For me, it takes two cans to make a meal. My assumption is that the Swanson’s CEO has a 97 year old grandmother who doesn’t eat much anymore and these little bitty cans suit her preferences. I’d be delighted if Swanson would just double the serving size rather than forcing me to open that second can. Maybe the CEO’s meemaw could just eat half a bowl and put the rest in the fridge for supper. ... show more

Serving size is 1 can. Very reasonable to me as I use it as a quick light meal or to add it to other food items. I also do the same with their Chicken a la King. Not sure why anyone would think this would feed a family as it contains just 300 calories. Very odd. Read the labels! I put it in same category as soup. Albeit a thick, chunky broth less soup, haha. I love it with just salt and pepper, maybe some crushed red pepper. I will eat it with toast, or top with vegetables. Tastes best warmed up but can totally be eaten at room temp too. Nice addition to my "prepper pantry". Just has that comfort food feel. Not going to be same as homemade, but excellent for a quick grab. You want something more substantive than soup, but not in the mood to make something from scratrch. I thought the price reasonable for the 12 pack. I try to buy these when I find them at dollarTree, but being able to order a case to be delivered to my house it nice too. At the current "subscribe and save" price, it is $1.46 per can. Love the flavor but not like it used to be, it's half gravy in the can. Cooked already so no cooking time. Put it over rice and it would be wonderful. Overall excellent taste and value, just know that you'll still be hungry after the 10 oz can.
