Surtek tool box I purchased this 21 inch toolbox to use for a 7-1/4 circular saw. Dewalt does not normally provide a hard case for these, and the one I bought didn’t come with a bag. This box is large enough for the saw and a battery, so this will work for me for my purpose. Toolboxes this large (height, depth) are hard to find. I have a large number of toolboxes, various materials (plastic, metal, structural foam) so I can compare the quality easily. As this box is plastic, it will not rust. Only the latches and hinge pin are metal. It is, however, somewhat flexible, but I would put this box in the middle as to rigidity. Rigidity is important as lack of rigidity can make the top not fit correctly when you try to close it. If you pack a bunch of tools into a toolbox and they push against the sides it will make closing the cover more challenging. Rigidity is generally not a problem for metal and structural foam toolboxes. This box does not have containers on top for parts or small tools- a feature I like. I have my parts in portable storage, and I generally find I need more than what can be carried in the typical toolbox storage. Additionally, this storage intrudes into the tray space limiting use for tools. Also, frequently there is a honeycomb to strengthen the top. This cover does not have the honeycomb, so more storage volume is available. The case does have corrugations for strength. These are about 3/8 deep which is pretty reasonable. The hinge is noteworthy as it runs most of the length of the box. Now to the tray. I will not use it so I didn’t really care how it was constructed. This tray is similar to that found in most plastic boxes- it has a handle molded in the middle and a hole underneath. I prefer the handles on old fashioned metal boxes - no hole, and handle from end to end. This tray has a number of fixed dividers. It is hard to know if they will work for each application. The tray rests on two supports at each end of the tool box. There is no support in the middle. The handle is off center which I think would be inconvenient. A final note- the two labels glued to the box are paper. They shredded when I tried to remove them and I had to resort to goo-gone to get the residue off. What a waste of time! The box came wrapped in plastic. Why not just put the labels on the plastic wrap?

I really wanted a metal toolbox but apparently those cost hundreds of dollars. I needed something big enough to let my impact driver lie down flat and keep all the rest of my random tools. This fit the bill and the price was right, so I reluctantly ordered. It's great! There are multiple hinges along the back, it doesn't bend or warp when you pick it up and I have at leat 25lbs in there. The only downside is that the front label is cheap paper so the glue sticks too well. They should have used a plastic label that peels off cleanly. See pics. I sprayed it with goo gone, hopefully that takes it off.

A great solid toolbox. I bought it for my smaller tools; kitchen cabinet tools. Anyhow, I’d give it a 5-star rating, but they packaged it cheaply. They just wrapped it in a thin stretch material so as not to scratch it. But they did NOT protect the latches that lock the box. Well, the latches came bent. I had to use my needle-nose pliers to straighten them out again so they could lock the toolbox. At the very least bubble wrap or styrofoam should be used to protect the latches in transit. It’s very sturdy, but the latches need to be better protected. That’s why I gave it a 4-star rating. Bottom line: great toolbox, but poor packaging quality. If you order it be prepared to pull out your needle nose to fix the latches.

Made in MEXICO, this toolbox is worth more than it costs and it’s simply the best one I’ve seen. Box is made from thick plastic, ditto removable tray that sits inside. Strong metal closures are easy to open/close and can accommodate a lock if needed. Bright yellow carry handle on top is oversized and comfortable even with a heavy load. Will buy more.
