I finally decided on these Sure-G Boardwalk roller skates in tan w/ the red jelly wheels for outdoor skating and so thankful I chose these! A little background info: I haven’t skated in over 20 years (the skate industry has changed a lot since then) so I googled and watched ALL the videos about every brand. For the price point this skate can go from beginner to advanced skater (unlike the brand that starts with an "I"), it is a better quality. These skates are surprisingly better looking in person. Would suggest look up "unboxing videos" online before you put them on so you know how to check the fit, wheels etc. I wear an 8.5-9 shoe and my foot measures 9.75” and I ordered a size 7. The size 7 fit is perfect fit. (NOT A 9 as stated below my name - I cannot change that error). I ordered and received a 7. I have had them on my feet for over an hour now as I am writhing this review and they are getting softer and not uncomfortable in any way - I also did my homework on how to lace up in different ways. I will be styling them out with different laces, stopper, toe guard & wheels in the future but wanted to rate them right out of the box, and incredibly without taking a fall yet while skating in home and then around the block!     • Good affordable skate with a solid build

I had ordered skates from another brand, you know the one that starts with an M... , but they were on a 6 month or more back order and I wanted to skate now so I picked up these. I was in need of a dance skate as all my other pair were derby/speed skates. The leather is STIFF to start. I literally rubbed baby oil and body butter into the insides of these for several days in a row to get the leather to soften up. Yes, they are genuine leather, lined in it as well, but there is no cushion or plushness to these skates. The plate is solid, and even though it's nylon it's pretty stable and rigid. I did upgrade the cushions/bushings and put on a new toe stop and I've been riding on these all summer...AND the leather has completely broken in and formed to my foot after a few good sesh's. Now that my special order skates have come in, I am going to keep these in my car so I can dash out and skate any time I see a nice spot. They are a good second pair or backup set of skates. Maybe you want an inexpensive park setup? These would fit the bill! These also run a tad big, I am a ladies 9 Wide or 9.5, and I ordered these in a 7 and they fit like a dream (after stretching). So, order down 2 full sizes if you are a lady (mens sizing) and use some sort of suede conditioner to help these break in faster. Enjoy! ... show more

I just received my Skates and they are beautiful! A personally signed piece of paper came in the box ensuring that the quality of the build was checked by a worker! I am a size 7-7 1/2 in women's so I orders a size 6 in mens and it fits perfectly.

These are my first pair of skates and wow do I love them! They look great, feel durable, and I love the color combo. The only downside is the sizing. I’m a woman’s 9 and originally bought a size 8 and had to size down. My heel moves around a lot in the 7 and there’s still room even with thick wool socks. I can feel my heel moving around in the boot but I ended up keeping them. The seller was really good about responding to my questions and helping me make the return so I’ll def buy from them in the future! ... show more

For a beginner rollerskater, this is a quality rollerskate. For an advanced skater, not so much. Pros - The boot has a good amount of room for my feet (which is perfect for me). I love the unique bolted screws that are used to adhere the plate to the boot. Almost all of the parts are manufactured by Sure Grip themselves: the bearings, the wheels, the plate, the truck and most importantly the boot. The parts are durable and well constructed. Not heavy so they're great for dancing/rhythm skating. Suede has strong abrasion. Stiff boot for better support! Cons - the upper or rim of the boot rubs against my skin creating uncomfortable friction whenever I dance on them. So I can't wear low cut socks, only high cut to reduce the feel of the friction. Update 8/12 - bruise left leg on my flesh after 2 1/2 hours of rhythm skating at a party. I knew this friction would cause a problem! The tongue frequently shifts out of place and effects the level of comfort in a minor way. It may take some time to break them in and contour to my feet but they're passable. (The Sure Grips are my 5th pair of rollerskates. I own 1 CandiGirl, 2 Moxi Lollies, 1 Sure Grip.) Sure Grip should include a soft liner around the rim to make this skating experience more comfortable but I also think I need to upgrade my rollerskates. ... show more

I love these skates, I am 58 yrs old, I know... I probably shouldn't! But I loved skating when I was young and was pretty good, so I bought them. The only thing that could have been improved on, in my opinion, is ankle padding...there is none! but it's ok, I'm gonna put my own padding on!!!

Love these skates!!! I am a beginner skater. I found these skates fit well, and are very smooth. The boot is pretty stiff but will relax in time, I'm sure. I have not experienced any discomfort with extended wear and feel like they will also work as I become more advanced. If you are looking for a quality skate that you can use as a beginner through advanced, these might be for you! ... show more

The boot's leather is so stiff it actually made my ankle bleed. The wheels are super hard so the ride is pretty rough on a paved road. I'm not sure if I will keep them.
